Our Rating: 4.6 out of 5.0

Endurance Warranty Review

Our review team gave Endurance a 4.8 out of 5.0-star rating, the highest in our study of the country’s most reputable extended car warranty providers. That’s why we named it “Best Overall” in our study. The company’s combination of costs, plan options, industry reputation, and customer reviews outperformed the other providers in our study.

What We Like About Endurance

Based on our team’s in-depth Endurance warranty review, here are a few other things we like:

  • The claims process is simple and clear.
  • Most plans can be canceled or transferred to a new owner.
  • Endurance offers a full refund with its 30-day money-back guarantee.
  • You won’t have to wait for reimbursements, as repair bills are paid directly to the repair shop by Endurance.
  • Warranty coverage is clearly stated online through easily accessible sample contracts, which list exclusions and fine print.

Endurance Warranty Overview

Founded: 2006
Northbrook, Illinois
Coverage Levels:

Endurance Warranty Services is a leading extended car warranty provider. The company is known as one of the most trusted companies in the nation and was included in the 2020 Inc. 5000 as one of the fastest-growing privately held businesses in America.

Within the vehicle protection industry, Endurance stands out for being a direct extended warranty provider. Rather than acting as a broker or reseller, Endurance directly provides and fulfills most of its plans with no middlemen in the process.

By keeping everything in-house, which eliminates the potential for extra steps and expenses, the company can keep its extended car warranty prices reasonable. Endurance warranty reviews consistently mention helpful and professional customer service, no doubt due, in part, to their ability to provide direct service.

Endurance Warranty Pros and Cons

Endurance Warranty Pros Endurance Warranty Cons
  • Direct provider of warranty coverage
  • Coverage can be used at any ASE-certified mechanic
  • Coverage options for high-mileage vehicles
  • Many benefits only come with an Elite Benefits package (free for the first year)
  • Some policyholders report a difficult claims process

Endurance Car Warranty Cost

In our research, we found that the average Endurance extended warranty costs $69 to $180 per month, which is just slightly above average. You can expect to pay a down payment of $150 to $400. Plan deductibles are usually $50 or $100, but other options include $0 or $200.

Endurance Warranty Cost Estimates

We reached out to Endurance to get some sample quotes for extended warranty coverage and received the following prices:

Vehicle Vehicle Mileage Endurance Warranty Plan Costs
2018 Toyota Camry 28,000 miles Supreme $156 down payment
+ $72 for 36 months
2013 Honda Accord 90,000 miles Secure Plus $175 down payment
+ $82 for 36 months

Like many other warranty providers, Endurance does not have a standard cost for each of its vehicle warranty plans. Instead, it describes the plans as containing many “moving parts” used to determine the pricing of each driver’s extended car warranty.

Endurance Warranty Cost Factors

Factors that affect the price of your extended warranty may include:

  • Driver’s age
  • Vehicle age and mileage
  • Vehicle make and model
  • Driving, parking, and storage habits
  • Coverage plan
  • Term length
  • Deductible amount

Endurance offers to customize a specialized payment plan for its customers. As a direct provider, the company develops its own plans and therefore can find a price to fit your budget. Of course, the final rate differs from driver to driver.

Endurance Warranty Discounts

Endurance is one of the few third-party warranty providers to offer discounts. The company offers several opportunities to save on your coverage. Endurance warranty discounts include:

  • First-time caller discount: Endurance rewards customers for purchasing a plan in their initial call with a policy discount.
  • No check engine light discount: You can get a discount on your Endurance policy if your vehicle hasn’t needed repairs for six months or more.
  • Government employee discount: Endurance offers discounts to many state and federal government employees such as public school teachers.
  • Military discount: Active-duty military, veterans, and family members of both can get a discount on their coverage with Endurance.

Endurance Warranty Plans and Coverage

Endurance offers six comprehensive levels of coverage, each one carefully designed to maximize value for the customer:

  • Supreme: As close to the manufacturer’s warranty you get with a new car from the dealership as you can get, the Supreme plan provides maximum protection for all your vehicle’s parts, unless they’re specifically excluded in your contract. This type of plan is also referred to as exclusionary coverage or bumper-to-bumper coverage.
  • Superior: Providing the most stated-component coverage, the Superior plan covers hundreds of components, including the engine, transmission, transfer case, drive axle, suspension, and cooling system.
  • Secure Plus: With the shortest waiting period of all plans (30 days and 1,000 miles), this plan is a mid-level warranty with a higher level of coverage compared to the Select Premier plan. Other than the Supreme plan, this is the only plan that covers your vehicle’s gaskets.
  • Select Premier: This plan is designed to protect the vital components of high-mileage vehicles, which are often more prone to mechanical failure. It covers parts such as the engine, transmission, transfer case, electrical components, and air conditioning.
  • Secure: Offered as Endurance’s most affordable coverage option, the Secure plan only covers the most vital and costly components of your car. It is a basic powertrain warranty plan that covers just the engine, transmission, transfer case, drive axle, and turbo or supercharger for a reasonable price.

If you live in California, you’ll need to look elsewhere for coverage, as Endurance doesn’t offer protection plans to California residents.

According to Endurance warranty reviews, Endurance Elite Membership is one of the company's best benefits. One year of membership comes free with all contracts.
Endurance Elite Benefits come free with all contracts for one year.

Endurance Warranty Benefits

In addition to warranty coverage, all Endurance auto warranty contracts come with:

  • Rental car reimbursement of $30 per day (maximum of $150 per breakdown)
  • Trip interruption coverage of $150 per day (maximum of $450) if more than 100 miles from home
  • 24/7 roadside assistance, including lockout services, fuel delivery, flat-tire services, jump-starts, and towing

Endurance Elite Benefits

Endurance distinguishes itself from competitors by offering one year of free Endurance Elite Benefits, which are often mentioned in Endurance warranty reviews. This program includes the following perks:

  • $500 toward a key fob replacement or repair
  • Up to two tire replacements or tire repairs per year ($125 limit per tire)
  • A collision discount of up to $500 per covered collision ($1,000 limit)
  • Total loss protection of up to $1,000 toward a replacement vehicle

Endurance customers also can also purchase EnduranceAdvantage packages – the company’s own version of a maintenance plan. These plans offer three levels of coverage for routine maintenance services.

All EnduranceAdvantage plans include the following regular services:

  • Annual safety inspection services (up to $55)
  • Annual alignment check (up to $25)
  • Annual tire rotations (up to $35)

EnduranceAdvantage One-Time Services

  • Three scheduled services ($25 for the first visit, $45 for the second visit, and $65 for the third visit)

Endurance Highline

Endurance now offers a new specialty coverage add-on to its Supreme plan specifically for luxury vehicle owners. This coverage option, called Highline, extends warranty coverage to high-performance cars and other luxury vehicles that many companies won’t cover.

Here are some of the models you can cover with Highline:

  • Alfa Romeo: All models
  • Audi: RS3, RS5, S3, S4, S5, and S8
  • BMW: M2, M3, M4, M340, 8 series (except I8 and M8), X3 M, X4, and X5 M
  • Jaguar: All eight-cylinder models
  • Land Rover: All models
  • Maserati: Ghibli and Levante
  • Mercedes: All AMG models except for the 63, 53, GT Coupe, and Roadster
  • Porsche: 718, 911 (except 911 Cabriolet), GT models, Boxter, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, Panamera, and Taycan

Endurance Highline Exclusions

It’s important to note that this coverage option isn’t available for all vehicles and does have some notable exclusions. These include:

  • Vehicles with incomplete chassis
  • Vehicles weighing over one ton
  • Vehicles with more than eight cylinders
  • Quad-turbocharged engines
  • Vehicles with fuel systems other than gas and diesel

What isn’t covered by an Endurance warranty?

Endurance extended warranty coverage is there to cover the cost of repairs as you need them. But it doesn’t cover all repairs. For example, you can’t use your warranty to cover damage from a car accident, since that falls under the responsibility of your car insurance.

Here are some other types of damage that aren’t covered by an Endurance warranty:

  • Weather and environmental damage
  • Damage from improper use
  • Damage from lack of proper maintenance
  • Pre-existing issues
  • Repairs to cars with salvaged titles
  • Repairs to cars with altered odometers

Endurance Mobile App

Endurance now offers a mobile app called Endurance Mobile for both iOS and Android. Policyholders can use the app to access policy information, coverage details, benefits, contact customer service, or contact roadside assistance.

Endurance Mobile has fairly mediocre reviews. Users on the Apple Store give the app an average rating of 2.6 out of 5.0 stars, while users on the Google Play Store give the app an average rating of 3.2 out of 5.0 stars.

Endurance Claims Process

Endurance simplifies the warranty claims process by giving drivers a single point of contact. Rather than dealing with the repair shop or other fulfillment companies, a customer can file a claim by following these simple steps:

  1. Get to any certified repair shop: Take your vehicle to a licensed repair facility of your choice, as long as the shop is certified by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE®).
  2. Have your repairs authorized by Endurance: Before agreeing to any auto repairs, provide the repair facility with a copy of your Endurance contract and obtain authorization from Endurance for the claim. This is usually done by the service manager, but you can also call the Endurance claims phone number at 877-414-0134.
  3. Give authorization to the repair shop: Authorize the repair facility to perform any required vehicle teardown and inspection to diagnose the issue. Endurance will then authorize repairs if the breakdown is due to the malfunction of a covered component.
  4. Pay your deductible: You’re responsible for covering your deductible as part of the repair costs. Typically, you choose the deductible amount when you sign up for coverage.
  5. Send documentation to Endurance: Once repairs are complete, all documentation must be submitted to Endurance within 30 days (365 days in Wisconsin) to be eligible for payment.

Endurance Warranty Cancellation Policy

You can cancel your Endurance warranty at any time. You can get a full refund on your plan if you cancel within 30 days of starting coverage and haven’t used it. If you cancel after 30 days, you can get a partial refund based on how long you’ve had coverage and how many miles you’ve driven.

To cancel your Endurance policy, you’ll need to call the company’s customer service phone number at 1-866-432-4443 and speak to an agent.

Endurance Warranty Reviews

With Endurance being one of the top extended warranty companies for over a decade, many Endurance warranty reviews are available online.

For the most part, Endurance has received positive customer reviews. The company has 4.4 out of 5.0 stars (with over 3,300 reviews) on Trustpilot, and 3.4 out of 5.0 stars (after just over 1,100 reviews) on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. However, the company is not BBB accredited.

Positive Endurance Warranty Reviews

People who reported a satisfying customer experience in their Endurance warranty reviews consistently mentioned responsive, professional customer service.

“Very helpful with any questions. Polite and professional. First time I have used this company, and I am happy to note they have been quick to respond when I called them.”

– Pamela B. via BBB

“After a not-so-great experience with a different company, I have to say Endurance knocks it out of the park. My roadside assistance has come in handy so many times that this service alone is well worth the price of the vehicle service contract.”

– Alexis H. via Endurance site

Negative Endurance Warranty Reviews

Unfortunately, not everyone reported having a fulfilling customer experience with Endurance. Negative Endurance warranty reviews tended to mention communication difficulties and mix-ups.

“I purchased a plan a few years ago, so thought it would benefit me now that I needed some work done for parts listed under coverage. But since these are considered wear-and-tear and standalone parts, the claim will not be covered.”

– Henry P. via Trustpilot

“It has been three months, and I have yet to receive my warranty packet after calling twice. At this point, the only thing they have informed me of is how to pay them.”

– Fess via Trustpilot

Conclusion: Endurance Is “Best Overall”

Based on our research and Endurance warranty reviews, the company offers a terrific combination of plans and customer service at affordable prices. Endurance earned a 4.8 out of 5.0 stars. This was the highest score among all providers in our study and why our team named Endurance “Best Overall.”

Endurance is a solid choice if you want to protect your vehicle through the years and have peace of mind. We love that Endurance is a direct provider of its own warranty coverage. That makes a direct path to actually using your warranty coverage when you need it. This sets Endurance apart from other third-party extended warranty providers.
