2013 Volvo XC60 Inscription Adds Luxury, Style

Late last year, Volvo introduced the 2013 C70 Inscription package. For about $3900, the package added exclusivity and upped the luxe quotient on the C70. We checked the C70 out for a brief bit while in Arizona in February and loved the exterior paint in particular. After a good reception with the C70 Inscription, Volvo is expanding the trim-level to its best-selling product, the XC60 crossover.

Over 100,000 units were delivered in 2011, and Volvo apparently can’t build enough of them to satiate demand here and around the world. By opting for a XC60 Inscription, buyers will gain the option of a full semi-aniline leather interior in four different colors: Marble White, Toscana Tan, Off-Black and Soft Beige. Toscana Tan is definitely our favorite; two-tone black/Toscana Tan combination looks fabulous.

Other changes on the interior include headrests embroidered with the Inscription logo, center console armrest in leather with stitching, soft door panel insert matching upholstery, Inscription door tread plates and electronically-adjustable lumbar support. As you can tell, in standard iteration the XC60 Inscription focuses on the interior. Unlike C70 Inscription though, Volvo is also including a host of additional options that customers can add on to the package.

They include special-effect exclusive Electric Silver exterior paint, Avior 20-inch wheels and a charcoal interior headliner. That headliner sounds like a really cool option for changing the ambiance of the interior. These designer touches that Volvo is offering help to boost margins and make customers feel more special by having unique options. The XC60 Inscription doesn’t appear to be limited to a certain production run, unlike the C70 which is at about 2,000 cars a year globally. Pricing information should be forthcoming. Volvo plans to launch the XC60 Inscription this month, with at the first public showing to take place later, at the Leipzig Motor Show in June.
