Last week we gave you a First Look overview of the two all-new models from Scion – the iM and iA.
As with most Scion models, the new cars are targeted at tech-savvy youngsters looking for a cool new inexpensive ride with just enough electronics to confuse their parents. The iA is their sedan, while the iM is their cooler hatchback.
Today we’re going to give you all the details you’d ever want about the all-new Scion iM hatchback so you can see if this is the next car to sit in your garage.
As a quick overview, the 2016 Scion iM comes with quite a few standard features that all of the buyers of this type of car will appreciate – a 6-speaker Pioneer Audio system with a 7-inch display, HD Radio, Aha music app, USB port and Bluetooth, backup camera, dual-zone climate, 17-inch alloys, and a 4.2-inch color TFT multi-information display.
The iM gets a decent 32 combined mpg rating and 137 hp from its 1.8 L 4-cylinder engine.
Pricing starts at $19,255 for the 6-speed manual version (choose this one), or $19,995 for the CVT transmission. Take it easy on the extras list and you’ve got yourself a sweet little ride for just under $20k.
Consider the iM a cooler Toyota Yaris with competition from the Mazda 3, VW Golf, Hyundai Elantra, and Ford Focus.
