Tell this rumor (more than a rumor?) turns out to be true: Lotus might just be coming back to Indy...
Lotus
Noted manufacturers of sports cars and racing cars that offer lightweight and exceptional handling characteristics, Lotus is a British automotive company that boasts winning the Formula One World Championship an impressive seven times.
Besides manufacturing their own vehicles, Lotus also acts as an engineering consultant providing others with assistance in things like chassis and powertrain development. The company mainly consults with other manufacturers on suspensions, however, their powertrain department is responsible for the four-cylinder Ecotec engine found in several GM models.
The current lineup for Lotus includes one of the most exciting additions to happen to the company in decades, the Evija. The Lotus Evija is a 2,000 horsepower (not a typo), electric hypercar (not an oxymoron) that comes with a price tag of $2.1 million. With that kind of power, the Evija is sure to suck any eco-conscious mind deep into the headrest.
Other current models include the Elise, Exige, and Evora, with many variations of each.
