Toyota announced today that they have begun production of the all-new Toyota Venza - a five passenger crossover vehicle that will only be for sale in North America.

The Toyota Venza will start at $25,975 for a front-wheel-drive (FWD) 4-cylinder model, and range up to $29,250 for the all-wheel-drive (AWD) V6 edition. The 2.7 liter 4-cylinder engine will get a decent 182 horsepower, achieving 21 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway, while the 268 horsepower 3.5 liter V6 will get a still good 19/26 mpg rating. The AWD models achieve only about 1 mpg less all-around, and both engines will be controlled by a 6-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift.

Every Toyota Venza will come standard with quite a few options, including Cruise Control, fog lamps, HomeLink, a 6-disc CD changer, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming rear view mirror, Hill-Start assist control, power accessories, and steering-wheel mounted audio controls. The Venza will also come standard with the “Star Safety System,” which includes Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, ABS, Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist.

Optional features will include a panoramic power roof, Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, smart key with push-button start, leather seats, backup camera, and HID headlights with automatic oncoming vehicle detection (it will switch to low beams automatically when a car is coming, similar to the Mercedes Adaptive High-Beam Headlights.)

Expect to see the V6 models hitting your local showroom next month, and the four-cylinder models available early next year.
