The definition of a scheduled limited production run creates a wide-open spectrum. More than often translating to a rather sizable number of vehicles produced by major automakers, even a production variety of 600 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 sport cars doesn’t sound so limited. A recent announcement of the V12 Zagato by Aston Martin will only see 150 examples brought to Earth. For the last United States run of the Lotus Elise and Exige (the Final Edition models), only 70 models have been made available. For Danish sports car company Zenvo Automotive, they’re putting an emphasis on limited vehicle run planning to build only 15 of their ST-150 S.
A Danish supercar dream spanned in 2004 when Jesper Jensen and Troels Vollertsen, the long road to production neared for the Zenvo ST-150 S. With the first conceptual work for the car developed in 2006, the road to the impending sale of the Zenvo ST-150 S supercar has twisted and turned through 5 years including engine dyno testing as well as a long stint on the auto show circuit. In 2009, a Zenvo ST-150S was voted the Super car of the Year after participation in the Le Mans Drivers Parade.
Earning some supercar stripes, the distinctive and edgy styled ST-150 S is composed of carbon fiber panels over a light steel structure. Hand-built in Denmark, the heart of every 15 production Zenvo ST-150 S models will be the 7-liter V-8 engine. Supercharged and turbocharged, the Zenvo ST-150 S delivers monstrous performance numbers that eclipses many challengers in the world of supercar motoring. Charging through a rear-wheel drivetrain, the force of 1,250 horsepower and 1,050 pounds-feet of torque will propel Michelin tires. Measuring the Zenvo ST-150 S supercar’s top speed, Australian automotive publication The Motor Report launched the vehicle up to 233 miles per hour (stating that velocity was electronically-limited). The Motor Report also mentioned jaw-dropping 0-62 miles per hour acceleration number of 3.2 seconds.
Wearing 19-inch front and 20-inch rear forged aluminum wheels, the Zenvo supercar maintains a steady high-performance ride on a double wishbone suspension that includes an adjustable roll anti-roll bar. Fitted with traction control and speed-sensitive power steering, 6-piston brakes featuring light alloy calipers insures the excitement of the Zenvo ST-150 S performance doesn’t fall out of the domain of control.
Zenvo says their ST-150 S supercar was developed with ‘track-worthy’ and everyday driving in mind. In all fairness, this ultra-exotic car is unlikely to lend itself as anyone’s daily driver. Cargo volume for the Zenvo ST-150 S is as scarce as can be expected from a performance-oriented vehicle with only 4.59 cubic feet of room. Power telescoping steering column, navigation system, keyless entry and power adjustable leather racing seats are found inside the two-passenger ST-150 S cabin not completely taking comfort out of the equation in achieving Zenvo’s supercar greatness.
Obtaining a scarce 3 of the 15 total ST-150 S cars for sale in the United States marketplace, Emporio Motor Group of Jersey City has become the sole distributor of the Zenvo Automotive creation in the country. “It is one of the most impressive automobiles I have ever driven, and the hand-crafted details make it as beautiful as it is powerful.” said Emporio Motor Group president Bobby Khan. Undergoing a presentation in New York City on November 14th and another party in Emporio Motor Group’s home city on the 16th, the American-imported Zenvo ST-150 S supercars will be selling at $1.8 million US a piece.
