Polestar is an automotive car company jointly owned by Volvo Car Group and its parent company Geely. The company focuses on creating high-end electric performance cars to compete directly with Tesla Motors.
Polestar is also the innovation lab for more experimental vehicles for the Volvo Car Group.
The Polestar 1, introduced in 2017, is a luxurious 2+2 coupe that features an electric hybrid drivetrain, boasting a combined output of 600 horsepower. In 2019, the company introduced the Polestar 2, a mid-sized battery-electric vehicle (BEV).
The Polestar Precept was slated to debut at the 2020 Geneva Motor Show; however, the event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
