Caterham
Initially introduced in 1973, Caterham is a British manufacturer that specializes in lightweight sports cars. Caterham’s high performance is attributed to lighter architectures as opposed to particularly powerful engines.
With a body constructed of aluminum and fiberglass, attached to a tubular steel chassis, some versions of a Caterham model weigh less than 1,000 lbs.
Caterham also achieves its lightweight because of a lack of comfort and safety features, which most of us take for granted. The cars are little more than fast soapbox derby cars. However, they are very cool soapbox derby cars.
