GeigerCars Tunes the Mustang GT500

German tuner GeigerCars just got their hands on the Ford Mustang GT500 – an already high-powered pony car ripe for tuning – and turned it into a real beast. Geiger opened up the hood and left almost nothing untouched.

Inside and around the massive 5.4-liter V8 powerhouse, GeigerCars added larger throttle valves, a modified injection system, a 100 millimeter air flow meter and machined cylinder heads, and extra coolers for air intake, coolant and engine oil. Geiger also took the stock supercharger, threw it away, and attached their own 3.3-liter supercharger, boosting the power from a hefty 550 ponies to a borderline insane 800 hp. Just as impressive is the increase in torque from 510 lb-ft to 697; a big enough change to require Geiger to reinforce the transmission and shorten the final two gears.

To make sure the Mustang’s chassis doesn’t twist and turn when putting down that sort of power, they’ve also fitted the car with a special racing chassis. High-performance 6-piston brakes are housed inside new 20-inch OZ alloy wheels. A new sport exhaust was fitted, along with racing catalytic converters and a special manifold.

The top speed of this monster? 220 mph! More images below:
