FCA Introduces Mopar Vehicle Protection Plans

Mopar Vehicle Protection, the service contract division of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles US LLC, recently launched new vehicle protection plans. Sometimes known as “extended service contracts,” vehicle protection plans are additional warranty options customers purchase with a new vehicle. Many times, the cost is included in the financing.

FCA is looking to provide customers hassle free maintenance and ownership.  For example, The Mopar “Complete 360” plans feature either 5 years/60,000 miles or 6 years/75,000 miles of coverage.

“Our mission at Mopar is to offer our customers industry-leading solutions that add value and bring peace of mind to their lives,” said Pietro Gorlier, Head of Parts and Service (Mopar), FCA Global.

Highlights include covering 5,000-plus components, scheduled and recommended maintenance including parts and services, coverage for all mechanical wear and tear items, such as wheel alignments, brakes (pads and rotors), shocks and struts, wiper blades, belts and hoses, clutch assembly, battery, bulbs, and fuses.

Gorlier believes it will be a game changer for FCA customers and their ownership experience.

“Mopar Vehicle Protection is the only service contract in the industry offering this degree of comprehensive vehicle protection, backed by trained and certified technicians and genuine Mopar parts,” he said.

The Mopar “Complete 360” plans also feature a first day and extended car rental allowance, $100 Sign & Go Towing and Roadside Assistance, and $1,000 trip interruption protection. An additional option covers the total cost of two worn tire replacements for the term of the plan, plus tire and wheel protection. Also covered are repairs stemming from minor vehicle dents, glass chips, and cracks. Rips to interior seats, carpet, and trim are also covered along with the key fob.

“This is a true value proposition for our customers and one that we hope will keep them coming back to our network,” Gorlier said.

Essential Care is another vehicle protection plan now offered to customers. Essential Care reduces oil change costs on a 1-year to 6-year term, based on the customer’s need. Conventional, synthetic blend, and diesel engine oils are covered and Essential Care plans are available at any point during vehicle ownership for all new or used vehicles, regardless of brand.

All services are performed at FCA US dealerships by factory trained technicians.

Would you purchase a vehicle protection plan? Why or why not?
