I suppose it was the year 2000 that Audi began their domination of the epic 24 Hours of Le Mans.
They won it with the incredible R8 LMP, and continued for three years in a row. Bentley won in 2003, then Audi came back for five years in a row – two with the same LMP R8, then they switched up to the R10 TDI, winning three years in a row before it was replaced with the R15 TDI, which won both of its races until Audi decided they’d upgrade to the yet-undefeated R18 e-tron quattro, which I’m pretty sure nobody can say anything bad about.
I was proud to a guest of Audi at Le Mans in 2012 with my friend Gareth Jones when Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer, and Benoît Tréluyer destroyed the competition with R18 – their hybrid diesel is simply too powerful and too efficient, not to mention the incredible team they’ve put together to make it all work. Watching the Audi pit crew in action is something to be admired.

What are your guesses on the results, will they dominate Le Mans again, or will we get a surprise result from an underdog?
