2017 Spark Activ: Pricing & Performance Overview

Chevrolet recently introduced the 2017 Spark Activ, a more sporty interpretation of the brand’s already established mini-car. The Spark Activ provides upscale features, multiple connectivity options, and “trail-inspired” accents to those who need an economical commuter.

Although the Spark is anything but basic, with technologies not typically found in the mini-car segment, including 10 standard air bags. According to Steve Majoros, Chevrolet Director of Car and Crossover Marketing, the Spark Activ was designed with adventure in mind.

“It has an attitude, while still offering the sophisticated, efficient, and connected driving experience customers have come to love,” he said.

Performance & Fuel Economy

The 2017 Chevy Spark Activ features an Ecotec 1.4L engine with either a manual or a continuously variable transmission (automatic). The engine creates 94 horsepower and 94 lb-ft. of torque. Fuel economy is GM estimated at 29 city and 37 highway with the manual transmission; 30 city/37 highway with the CVT automatic.

15-inch wheels and a revised suspension setup increases the Spark Activ’s ride height by 0.4 inches.

Interior & Exterior Styling

Unique front and rear fascias compliment the new Spark Activ along with the revised grille pattern, round fog lamps, contrasting wheel moldings, and hatchback cladding. On the inside, driver’s are treated to standard black, heated leatherette front seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

With the rear seat folded, there is 27.2 cubic feet of cargo space.

Connectivity

Chevrolet MyLink with a 7-inch-diagonal color touchscreen and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility are included. Other connectivity features include SiriusXM satellite radio and a 90 day/3GB data trial of the vehicle’s built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

Pricing & Availability

The 2017 Chevy Spark Activ will arrive on dealership showrooms in the first quarter of next year. The Spark Activ with a manual transmission starts at $16,945 MSRP; one with a continuously variable transmission starts at $18,045 MSRP.
