Ken Block Plans to Destroy Global Rallycross Competition

Ken Block has set his race schedule for 2015 and says he is ready to win the Global Rallycross title this year in the Ford Fiesta ST.

Ken Block was only 5 points away from winning the Global Rallycross title last year in his Ford Fiesta ST. Block who is a fierce competitor, says he’s ready to go after and win the GRC title this season. Block has just released his schedule that will include a full Global Rallycross Championship schedule in the U.S. along with other international events.

Block is a fan favorite

Last year, Block was the top average qualifier and won the most heats making him the fan favorite and the one to beat this season. He won two events and took second overall in the championship last year. Block is back again in the 12-round Global Rallycross series looking to bring home the overall championship.

Block will also compete in the Rally America rally events in New England July 17-18 and Lake Superior October 16-17. He’ll also compete internationally at the New Zealand Rally in Whangerei April 18-19 and Otago May 9-10. Block will race in the Gymkhana Grid at Athens, Greece October 10-11 and Gymkhana demos TBA. Block will also be participating in X Games this summer in Austin, TX at the Circuit of the Americas looking to add to his 5 previous X Games medals.

Block will run 3 cars

Block just unveiled the three Ford Fiesta ST cars, one for Gymkhana Grid, one for Rally America and one for Global RallyCross. The cars are visually similar, with the exception of the logos on the door with the sanctioning body badge along with different wheels. The Gymkhana Grid Fiesta is shod with fifteen52 Turbomac white wheels. The rally Fiesta ST gets black wheels and the Global RallyCross Ford will sport a set of race wheels painted the same light blue as the accents on the body.

Fans will get a special treat as Block will also bring his 1965 Ford Mustang Hoonicorn RTR a few times as well for fans around the globe. Look for Ken Block to try to destroy the competition in his new 2015 Ford Fiesta ST.   1. Really hate that no date for the Dirt Track in Charlotte. Will miss watching the head Hoon rule the dirt again.
