Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster

Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster

Surely you’ve heard about the Pagani Zonda - the Italian ultra-supercar a step above Ferrari and Lamborghini’s finest machines. Pagani decided that the regular Zonda wasn’t crazy or exclusive enough, and created the Zonda Cinque - an ultra-rare supercar made with no compromises, of which only five will ever be made. And of course they’re spoken for.

Pagani decided that their roadcar model range “would not be complete without a Roadster version of the Zonda Cinque.” Of course not. The Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster sports the same 678hp Mercedes-sourced V12 engine found in the Cinque Coupe, which will propel you from 0-62 mph in 3.4 seconds and only takes 6.2 more seconds to hit 124 mph. Mini Supercars - A Photo Gallery

Mini Lamborghini Diablo

Sometime last year, a few Photoshop gurus got together and made some very funny “mini” versions of their favorite cars. The trend caught on, and soon lots of people were taking their favorite cars, and through the process of image manipulation, made them mini versions of themselves.

Below, you will find a photo gallery full of these micro machines, in all of their hilarious glory. If you have any you’d like to share, please leave a comment.

New Renderings of the Pagani Zonda R

pagani-zonda-r.jpg

Wow, would you take a look at that.

These recently released renderings of the über Zonda R supercar are stroke-inducing, simply because the thought of owning one of these insane beasts sends the blood rocketing and pulsing through the brain. Just looking at that full carbon fiber body is causing my temples to pulse.

Well, maybe they’re not stroke-inducing, but ya gotta admit: that looks pretty damn nice. Maybe “nice” isn’t the right word. I’m thinking more along the lines of “pretty damn extreme”. I really like how Pagani is innovative and original with their designs, they aren’t copying anyone yet they can come up with something that knocks the socks off of most everything else. That’s the way car design should be, where every sketch is painfully original. Too many manufacturers these days are afraid of bold designs, so they stick with mimicking and not straying from the safe design path.

More info and pictures after the jump. Continue Reading…

Pagani’s Super Exclusive— The Zonda Cinque

zonda1.jpg

Remember when Bugatti, way back in 2007, decided to make the ultra-expensive and ultra-exclusive even more expensive and exclusive? And came up with the Veyron Pur Sang, which was a beautiful thing with only five in the whole world? Well, it looks like Pagani is going that way too, with the five-run super-special Zonda Cinque.

Not too much has been released about this car, but what there is is interesting. The Zonda Cinque is a street legal version of the new Zonda R, which should make the lucky few who can own them even more happy. What’s also interesting about this car is the new goodies that will be featured on future Paganis:

First, there is this new carbon-titanium composite that was developed specifically for the Cinque by Pagani. From what I gather, it is lighter and stronger than carbon fiber, and will be used throughout the car. A new Cima sequential six speed transmission will also be present. A new titanium and magnesium composite suspension is included as well. The Cinque also has new rolling stock, in the form of forged monolock multiple piece wheels with titanium fasteners, all covered in extra-wide Pirelli PZeros. Beastly 15 inch Brembos complete that package.

zonda11.jpg

Now to the engine. This monster is powered by an equally impressive 7.3 liter V12 that pumps out 678 stallions and 575 pound-feet of torque. Top speed is rated at around 217 mph, and it blasts to 60 in around 3.3 seconds.

God, I want one of these.

Controlling it all is a Bosch designed ABS and traction control, along with a race-style Automac sequential gearbox.

As for the interior, it is beautiful and pays exquisite attention to detail, just like it is in every Pagani. Carbon fiber trim and leather cover everything in tasteful applications. Four point seatbelts, roll bars, and custom Toora seats remind the driver of the Cinque’s racing heritage. All in all, it is fantastic.

Put it all together and you have yourself one fine, sweet ride.

Which is where we hit the snag.

The snag being the insane price of $1.5 million dollars, and the afore-mentioned limited run of only five in the world.

Ah, what the heck. If you have the money, then you get the perks.

In this case, a really, really nice (and oh so fast) perk.

Specs

Price: $1.5 million

Engine: 7.3 liter V12

Top Speed: 217 mph

Horsepower: 678

Torque: 575 pound-feet

0-60 mph: around 3.3 seconds

Mileage: (not available, but I’ll bet it’s really, really bad)

Fastest Production Cars in the World - Quick Update

Back in March I wrote a post listing the 10 Fastest Cars in the World. It was hugely popular (and still is,) but I’ve received so many comments telling me that the list isn’t accurate anymore. I plan to do another comprehensive post on this in the future, but for now here is a quick update on the fastest production cars in the world, ranked by top speed. On the last post, I also received a lot of comments about cars such as the Lingenfelter Corvette being faster. Just like the last list, this is only for production cars. Fastest cars in the world:

SSC Ultimate Aero

SSC Ultimate Aero

Top Speed: 256 mph

Horsepower: 1183

Torque: 1094lbs

On September 13th, 2007, the SSC Ultimate Aero broke the official top speed world record, traveling 256.18 mph down a closed section of a Washington State highway. Impressive, considering the Ultimate Aero’s engine is only a twin-turbo V8 - half the size and turbo count of the Veyron below. Continue Reading…

Pagani Zonda R - Official Renderings

Pagani Zonda R

Ah, finally an update to the long-awaited next model from Pagani. Following the Zonda F, the Zonda R is shown to be made completely out of carbon fiber. When I first wrote about this car in March, the concept drawings looked different, but not dramatically different.

The Zonda R is said to have a 7.3-liter V12, pushing 750 horsepower and 523 lb-ft of torque. It may look similar to the Zonda F, but it actually only shares about 10% of it’s parts. With the aerodynamic improvements, lighter weight and increased power, the R should be able to keep up with (or beat) the Ferrari’s FXX and Maserati MC-12 track cars. Continue Reading…
