Honed from a Mercedes-Benz E-Class sedan, the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric invokes the initial reaction of allure as the fuel-powered examples from this German car customizer. Brabus body enhancements, including aluminum front fenders with carbon fiber inserts, not only allows the prototype sedan to command performance authority but also assists in aerodynamic efficiency. Brabus has also outfitted LED daytime running lights to the vehicle achieving minimal energy consumption. When looking at the rear of the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric, a notable item is the exclusion of the exhaust pipe.

A suspension system for the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric was created in cooperation with Bilstein featuring gas-pressure shocks and adjustable height settings. Perhaps some of the most dramatic wheels ever to be found on an electric wheel, 19-inch Brabus Monoblock Q wheels spins on this unique technology showcase.

Rather than Mercedes-Benz 4Matic drivetrain, the Brabus has turned to Protean Electric to showcase in-wheel electric drive on the converted E Class sedan. Providing acceleration and braking assist, the total 320 kilowatts of electric current is fed by a 56 kWh lithium-ion battery. An electric motor connected to each wheel, all-wheel drive on the Brabus car is supplied with assistance of individual computer controls. Weighing 68 pound each and perfectly located behind the sporty Brabus wheels, the in-wheel system displayed on the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric is the latest application of an automotive design theory popularized on General Motor’s Autonomy concept car in 2001. Along with the deceleration handled by the wheel hub mounted electric motors, a Brabus high performance braking system stops the sedan promptly.

To be driven in one of two modes (Eco and Sport), the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric most aggressive manoeuvring is approached in the Sport setting. The initial acceleration of the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric from 0 to 62 miles per hour in 6.9 seconds is not bad for an all-electric vehicle but a little longish for a luxury performance sedan. In fact, the current Mercedes-Benz E350 sedan 0 to 60 mile per hour launch is 6.5 seconds. Though the effort from the standing start may not immediately excite, Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric peak power at only 1,000 RPMs kicks in for impressive performance at speed. From 37 to 74 miles per hour, the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric accelerates in 5 seconds flat (faster than a Mercedes-Benz E500 4Matic). The Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric top speed is 137 miles per hour.

In Eco mode, the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric sedan maintains a tamer 118 mile per hour top speed but provides greater traveling distance. Under the best driving scenario, the Brabus electric sedan can run 217 miles on a single charge. To recharge the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric vehicle, the prototype tuner car presents two enticing options. The Delta ES three-phase on-board charger replenishes the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric’s lithium-ion battery in a very reasonable 5-hour time cycle. Using a 380-volt, 3-phase RWE Combi Station, Brabus touts the High Performance 4WD Full Electric sedan can be charged in only 1.5 hours.

Only a prototype show car, the course of automotive propulsion technology could see a vehicle similar to the Brabus High Performance 4WD Full Electric wetting performance appetites soon.

A vehicle first presented at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the STaSIS Audi R8 5.2 Challenge Extreme Edition tests the widest boundaries for reengineering the mid-engined two-seater. Outfitted with a height adjustable suspension, Alcon brakes and forged 20-inch ultra-lightweight aluminum wheels, the STaSIS Audi R8 V-10 Challenge Extreme Edition vehicle attractive touches are all functional.

The most substantial improvement to the Audi R8 V-10 has major performance tweaks added to the 5.2 liter ten-cylinder powerplant. STaSIS Engineering modifications for the Audi R8 V-10 Challenge Extreme Edition engine is topped by an Eaton / Magnusson TVS 2300 supercharger generating 7.5 PSI of boost pressure. BMW Alpina B7 BiTurbo

Alpina’s business relationship with BMW started in the 1970s when the eventual car manufacturer operated as a sports car race team. Fielding the BMW 3.0 CSL in competition, Alpina brought their collaboration with BMW to the streets in the 1980s.

While the BMW M division attracts the most attention among enthusiasts, the Alpina B7 BiTurbo supplements the absence of BMW 7 Series version in the M line-up. In its fourth-generation, the Alpina B7 BiTurbo is a super sedan balancing high-performance, electronic ingenuity and luxury comfort. Incorporating its own LAVALINA leather and available piano lacquer interior trim, the performance sedan features a loaded assortment of BMW 7 Series equipment. Edo Competition LP750

Outfitting a wide range of vehicles, Edo Competition has modified BMW M5 Touring wagons, Porsche 997s and even Maserati MC12 supercars. From the Lamborghini Murcielago, the Edo Competition LP750 was created this past February. Meant to be the fastest Lamborghini Murcielago ever, the Edo Competition LP750 is shaped with specially-contoured aerodynamic panels. A redesigned rear spoiler and ultra lightweight alloy wheels are worn on the Edo Competition LP750 providing a stylish extension of Lamborghini performance.

Speaking of performance, the Edo Competition LP750 receives a healthy power boost to the 6.5 liter V-12 engine. Totalling 750 horsepower, the special Lamborghini supercar presented by Edo Competition soars from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 3.1 seconds. The Edo Competition LP750 takes just 24.5 seconds for a rush to 186 miles per hour from a standing stop.

As the Aventador replaces the Lamborghini Murcielago as the Italian sports car builder’s flagship, it only seems reasonable to believe an after-factory preparation of the new generation supercar is only a matter of months away.

Brabus 700 BiTurbo

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG immediately impressed with its late 2010 introduction as a spiritual recreation of the 1955 SL300 Gull Wing. The first Mercedes-Benz production vehicle to originate from the AMG speed lab, the supercar arrived with prime performance attributes. Despite the stock SLS AMG’s 563 horsepower and a 197-mile per hour top speed, aftermarket companies have found ways to further dress up the Mercedes-Benz supercar. Long-time Mercedes-Benz outfitter Brabus was one company that quickly issued their exploration of the SLS AMG peak performance.

Lifting horsepower to 700 horsepower by adding a twin-turbocharger system to the 6.3 liter V-8 engine, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is turned into the Brabus 700 BiTurbo. While the stock SLS AMG’s 0 to 60 mile per hour acceleration of 3.7 seconds remains largely unchanged, the Brabus 700 BiTurbo’s enhancements come at the top end. Unlimited top speed potential of 700 horsepower allows this Brabus supercar to sail up to 213 miles per hour.

Besides the advantages of raw horsepower, the Brabus 700 BiTurbo supercar is suited for a dramatic motoring experience. Possessing a special high performance exhaust featuring a pneumatic flap, the driver can adjust the engine note for a more civilized purr or a full grunt roar. Priced at the equivalent of $349,690 in US money, the Brabus 700 BiTurbo is a rocket ride left affordable to only a few land-based pilots.

Featuring pneumatically-controlled bypass gate designed to achieve two distinct engine sounds, this new exhaust adds an additional 10 horsepower over the stock output. Now delivering 573 horsepower, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Brabus Widestar is completed with a 250 mile per hour (400 kilometer per hour) speedometer. Regrettably, the 10 horsepower improvement on the SLS AMG Brabus Widestar is unlikely to push far beyond the 197 mile per hour top speed achieved with the stock supercar. However, Brabus is perhaps teasing for what engine modifications could be forthcoming.

Interior of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Brabus Widestar also offers the employment of rich leather, aluminum, carbon fiber and Alcantara use at the request of the owner. Custom center console, door coverings with handles and even door lock pins can be opted through Brabus.

Beyond the improvements made for driving a Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG during dry weather conditions, the supercar outfitter’s Brabus has masterminded some more practical options with their new Widestar. Brabus Ride Control and Ride Lift makes up an air-adjustable suspension unit which can raise or lower the ground clearance by 1.57 inches (40 millimeters). On the SLS AMG Brabus Widestar, the ride height adjustment is said to be only 1.2 inches.

Brabus has matched a winter tire and wheel combination allowing owners of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Widestar to flash their wonderful German supercar using cooler conditions (though it seems reasonable to assume the SLS AMG Widestar will never venture out immediately after a snowstorm). Featuring a hot quartet of 19-inch Brabus Monoblock S light alloy wheels for use with winter tires, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Brabus Widestar can be an all-season supercar sight.

AMG series models at the top of the Mercedes-Benz lineup recently got updated. The S63 AMG Sedan and CL63 AMG Coupe received a styling refresh, but most importantly, new smaller-displacement engines that offered increased power.

As always though, the aftermarket is happy to take it much further. BRABUS is a tuner specializing in Mercedes-Benz vehicles – Mercedes, Smart and Maybach brands.

The latest model to receive its touch is the S-Class, with a vehicle dubbed the BRABUS SV12 R Biturbo 800. That is quite a mouthful there – fitting for a vehicle BRABUS says is the world’s fastest sedan.

Many vie for the title of fastest supercar in the world, and that crowded field has a lot higher bar to match. Fastest sedan? Not as much. Cadillac says it has the title of the world’s fastest production sedan with the CTS-V.

As an aftermarket manufacturer, BRABUS is making the claim that the SV12 R Biturbo 800 is the world’s fastest luxury sedan. At 3.9 seconds, 0-62 mph is reached under the 4 second hurdle, and the top speed is electronically-limited to 217 mph.

Yes, you read those figures right – it would be interesting to see these claims verified. Those figures are achieved using a V-12 engine, with a displacement of 6.3-liters.

The engine makes 800 horsepower and with this car being all about the extreme, the torque figure actually has to be limited. The engine is capable of making 1,074 pound feet at 2,100 rpm, but it has been restrained a still-insane 811 lb-feet. With this kind of power output though, Brabus’ figures don’t seem far off the mark.

Exterior changes include a new front fascia with larger central air intake, horizontal brace and air vent made from clear-coated carbon fiber. There is also a front spoiler lip, aluminum front fenders, and a new rear spoiler.

There is a range of wheel options, starting from 19 to 21 inches and available in four styles. They include double-spoke three-piece forged BRABUS Monoblock VI wheels, Monoblock S wheels with double-spoke design, multi-spoke Monoblock E wheels and cross-spoke Monoblock F PLATINUM EDITION forged wheels.

The interior options include many different combinations of leather and Alcantara, along with exclusive wood trim sets. The car also debuts an iBusiness multimedia system, with integrated Apple Mac and iPad components into the interior.

Now that’s the clincher on the whole deal right there (this writer is an Apple fan). No word yet on pricing, but expect it to get an outrageous price tag to match its power output figures.

Hey! You! Yeah you! The rich as all get out guy who has been largely unaffected by The Great Recession. Have we got just the car for you: The BRABUS GL 63 Biturbo Luxury SUV. Nothing says “Screw you, I’m rich and don’t care about the environment” better than this guy.

“Strong as a bull, sporty yet elegant and with exclusive appointments: The new BRABUS GL 63 Biturbo, which celebrates its world debut at the DUBAI INTERNATIONAL MOTOR SHOW … ” OK, really, what more do you need to know, you know?

From the Freudian start, to the fact that is rolled out in Dubai, the BRABUS GL 63 Biturbo has conspicuous consumption written all over it.

It’s a crate-shaped SUV with an engine that puts out 650 hp and is loaded with more luxury junk than anyone could possible ever desire with a clean conscious, but hey, there’s probably a market for it.

The BRABUS B63 Biturbo is motivated by a 6.3-liter V8 engine that puts out the aforementioned 650 hp and it can top out at a remarkable 300 km/h (186 mph). Remarkable because this thing must have the aerodynamics of the crate it’s shipped in. Hell, it LOOKS like the crate it was shipped in. Imagine what that plant could do in something not so square.

Along with the big mill, you also get forged 23-inch wheels, an exclusive interior with leather and Alcantara. All for the low, low price of 368,000 Euros MSRP.

But it’s not like this is some slapped together tuner special that Vin Diesel would use as a prop. BRABUS (all caps, and I worry about companies that do stuff like that) has gone to the trouble to make the turbos “handed”, so that the left hand blower is a mirror image of the right hand unit. Better response that way, but not a cheap solution. They have also reprogrammed the engine electronics with custom mapping for ignition.

Torque, you ask? Well the box cranks out a maximum torque of 850 Nm (626 lb-ft) and that grunt is routed to the ground via a modified SPEEDSHIFT 7G-TRONIC seven-speed automatic transmission and permanent four-wheel drive.

Performance? That would be zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.7. Not bad for a truck that weighs … well, they don’t say how porky this guy is – but it’s probably a lot.

There are all sorts of gee-gaws on the inside as well (LCDs and leather and trim bits that are more expensive than a used Miata), but by this point, who cares. If this is your sort of ride, you’ve probably got one on order by now.

Gah! Did I read that right? 555 hp and 320 km/h top speed? From a Sedan? Son of a … man, that pretty quick for something with four doors that weighs as much as a Mercedes. Since this is from Brabus, it’s not all that surprising. After AMG, which is, essentially, and official arm of Mercedes Benz, Brabus is a serious tuner not to be trifled with.

Motivating this beast down the road is a 6.3-liter V8 that has been thoroughly massaged by the German tuning firm. They’ve gone and added two sport air filters, free-flow metal catalysts and newly programmed engine electronics. The bottom line is that the kit knocks power output of the engine up from the stock (yet impressive) 525 hp by and additional 30 hp. The peak torque also grows from 464 to 479 lb-ft at 5,400 rpm.

Going with this kit will result in 0 – 100 km/h sprints of just 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph. Getting all that power and grunt to the ground is done via a limited-slip differential with a locking rate of 40 percent for the E 63 AMG.

Naturally, with a terminal velocity set at the double ton, you want to pay attention to aerodynamics. If you want to keep the aerodynamic lift down, do what Brabus (okay, it’s actually BRABUS, in all caps) did, and have your BRABUS designers head to the wind tunnel and develop aerodynamic enhancements. Said aero bits-n-bobs are manufactured from clear-coated carbon fiber, and are quite attractive, in a cold and Germanic sort of way. And they consist of about what you’d expect: a front spoiler lip, diffuser and a rear spoiler.

BRABUS (nee Brabus) have also added aluminum sport fenders up front with lateral air outlets for better venting of the wheel wells. And they also look kind of slick too.

And speaking of wheel wells … stuffed with in you will find BRABUS custom-tailored tire/wheel combinations. They come in 18, 19 and 20 inches sizes and can be fitted with Pirelli or YOKOHAMA high-performance tires in size 245/30 ZR 20 in front and up to size 295/25 ZR 20 out the back.

The fast-revving 6.3-liter V8 becomes even more powerful with the BRABUS B63 S performance kit. Minimizing aerodynamic lift is essential in a car as fast as this one. The BRABUS designers went into the wind tunnel to develop aerodynamic-enhancement components that are as stunning as they are effective. These components are manufactured from clear-coated carbon fiber. The production front apron of sedan and wagon can be upgraded with a spoiler lip. The aerodynamics of the sedan’s rear can be further improved with a diffuser and a rear spoiler.

On the front axle BRABUS aluminum sport fenders with lateral air outlets improve venting of the wheel houses and add a decidedly sporty note to the car’s appearance.

Brabus isn’t messing around when it comes to making ultra-powerful modified cars, mainly from Mercedes. Just a few days after we heard about the Brabus SV12, they give us the E V12 – an ultra-powerful version of the Mercedes E-Class. So powerful in fact, they’re calling it “The World’s Most Powerful High-Performance Sedan.” I don’t doubt that for a minute, considering the specs.

The Brabus E V12 is powered by a twin-turbo V12 engine producing 788 horsepower and 1,047 lb-ft of torque. This is enough for a 0-62 mph time of only 3.7 seconds, and a top speed of over 230 mph (electronically limited to 217 mph.) For a sedan, that’s insanely fast. Hell, for anything, that’s insanely fast. The 6.3-liter V12 engine – called the SV12 R Biturbo 800 – was created by Brabus specifically for this car. Although the engine produces an insane 1,047 lb-ft of torque, that number is limited to 811 lb-ft in the car, surely to save to tires from complete destruction at every stop light.

The air intake was modified just for this car too, and consists of a carbon fiber ram-air system in the hood. A custom-built high-flow exhaust is also included, as is a reprogrammed ECU for maximum power. A five-speed automatic transmission routes power to the rear wheels. They’ve also included a highly adjustable suspension for when you want to take it on the track.

Brabus also wind-tunnel developed a body kit for the E V12. The carbon fiber body adds 1.4 inches to the E-Classes width and increases cooling and downforce – a necessity in a 200+ mph car. Air vents in the front and rear fenders increase air flow and cooling, which is needed for the massive 12-piston caliper, 15-inch rotor brake system. A rear wing and rear diffuser also also help with air flow and downforce, and a strange carbon fiber fender covers up the rear wheel for reduced turbulence, Honda Insight-style.

Interior upgrades include custom alcantara and black leather seats, dashboard, door trim, and headliner. The floor is entirely covered in leather as well, a strange but unique touch. Carbon fiber trim covers the dashboard, center console and door panels.

Only ten E V12s will be produced at a hefty price of $726,980. An “entry-level” version with only 750 horsepower will also be available without so much bodywork. See below for more a photo gallery.

Here’s some more heavy German iron set to roll out at the upcoming Frankfurt show: The BRABUS SV12 R. Brabus calls it “The Fastest and Most Powerful Office on Wheels in the World” and with 750 hp, 995 lb-ft of torque on tap and a terminal velocity of 211 mph, I’m not going to start arguing with them.

Essentially the German tuning firm took a Mercedes-Benz S 600 and threw their catalogue at it … and their engineers, aerodynamicists and stylists for that matter and came up with what the well-healed German businessman should be using to get from Frankfurt to Cologne faster than their Gulfstream jet.

The BRABUS SV12 R is centered around the Biturbo 750 twelve-cylinder engine. Brabus says that the plant ” is a prime example for the old adage that nothing can replace displacement except more displacement.” And when the end result is an engine that cranks out 750 hp puts down a peak torque of 995 lb-ft, I guess they’re not exactly joking.

It features a special crankshaft with longer stroke, forged pistons with a larger diameter and an increased cylinder bore and a displacement bump to 6.3 liters. Brabus also optimized and improved mixture flow through the cylinder heads and also added four special camshafts to better help breathing.

The engine gurus also put on larger turbochargers, a more efficient intercooling system and added a low backpressure stainless-steel exhaust system with four tailpipes and metal catalysts. They also massaged the engine electronics to play well with all the new components and to meet current exhaust emission limits.

All this effort translates into 0 – 62 mph times of 4.0 seconds, and the beast gets up to 124 mph in a scant 11.9 seconds. The top speed is limited to 211 mph. Hmmm … wonder what it could do with those limiters off?

All this happens between the mill and the pavement via a modified five-speed automatic transmission. There’s also an optional locking differential to optimize traction.

Thankfully Brabus has also seen to the car’s aero package as well. There’s a new front apron that reduces lift on the front axle, and the large central air duct optimizes the cooling for the engine and front brakes. The new front also integrates auxiliary headlights and LED daytime running lights.

Brabus also did away with the stock fenders, replacing them with custom-tailored aluminum sport fenders that feature air vents and integrated LED lights.

You get your choice of Brabus Monoblock light-alloy wheels with diameters ranging from 17 to 21 inches. And tucked inside is a Brabus high-performance brake system with 12-piston aluminum calipers and 380 x 36-mm vented and cross-drilled discs up front, and 355 x 28-mm discs and six-piston aluminum fixed calipers out back.

Inside there’s more flat screens, computers, MP3 players and printers than a Best Buy and all around you is enough leather and wood and cushy seating to make really believe you’re in your office.

Your 750 hp, 211 mph office, that is.
