The New Mercedes E-Class Wagon – Info & Photos Galore

EClassEstateSideAtLake.jpg

Mercedes just released info on their new, up and coming E-Class wagon, or as they are known in The Old Country, Estates. Actually, the Germans make a funny by titling their announcement: “The new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Estate, Intelligent (E)state-of-the-art”. How droll. At any rate, what this is, is a much better alternative to using an SUV, if you ask me.

Wagons, er, estates, are much more popular in Europe than they are here. They’re popular for all the reasons our parents bought them when we were kids: Practicality. Then the SUV came along, and seemed more practical, or at least cooler than a wagon, and now their popularity has dropped off. That doesn’t mean, however, that a well thought out wagon is not without its charms.

Edo Competition Mercedes C63

Edo Competition Mercedes Benz C63

to hell with modesty…

Edo Competition’s tagline for their tuned Mercedes-Benz C63 sedan is fairly accurate. After finding that the stock 457 horsepower 6.3-liter V8 engine wasn’t enough, they set off to make an even more impressive beast. Continue Reading…

2010 Smart ForTwo cdi: More Power & Torque

2010SmartForTwocdi.jpg

It seems that Mercedes is insistent on making its diminutive Smart ForTwo city car better and better, and their latest announcement shows that the latest upgrades are ones that will make gearheads out there happy: More power and torque. But also being one of the darlings of the green set, the ForTwo also still maintains its impressive low emissions standards.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Is The Best Car In The USA

TheMercedesBenzSClassisth.jpg

“The Mercedes-Benz S-Class is the best car in the USA.” As Vincent Vega said to Lance his heroin dealer in Pulp Fiction, “That’s a bold statement.” Really, it’s THE best car in the USA? Out of all the cars I could get? Who says? Turns out that it’s J. D. Power APEAL study for 2009 that is saying such things about the latest Mercedes flagship.

Now, I could say that something like a Ferrari F430 is a MUCH better, and much more pure car to drive than a two-ton sedan, but J. D. Power is not using the same criteria I am in their 2009 APEAL study.

Vath Tuning Makes a 580 HP Wagon I Can Believe In

Mercedes-E63-Estate-3.JPG

Normally, I’m not that much of a wagon kind of guy. The farther away you get from something like, say, a Lotus 7, the more I have a tendency to dislike it. But when I saw that some tuning outfit called Vath had done up a Mercedes wagon that was putting in excess of 500 HP to the ground, I decided to give it a look, if not change my mind right off the bat.

Mercedes S-Class - S 400 Hybrid: Luxury for the Environment

S 400 Hybrid front.jpg

Mercedes, logically, slowly and methodically, is getting into the green game more and more. Check out the latest example, the S-Class S 400 Hybrid. The boys from Stuttgart aren’t doing things half way, they’re not trying things out on lower range models, and then moving things up the corporate food chain. Nope, Mercedes is starting right at the top, with the S-Class.
