A quick look at the top 10:

10. Police in the Netherlands have a hand-built Spyker C8. The Spyder Roadster uses a V-8 Audi 4.2 Liter power plant to push this cruiser to its limits in terms of speed and handling. However, it doesn’t quite have the same curb appeal as:

Porsche’s brand sales have increased significantly over the past decade. While the 911 and Boxster have increased too, the gains have mostly been powered by the Cayenne SUV. Purists have never liked it, but the Cayenne no doubt has added new buyers to the brand.

Previous Chief Executive Officer Wendelin Wiedeking oversaw development of the car in order to ensure Porsche would remain an independent automaker. He said the company wouldn’t be able to survive with the 911 and Boxster alone. His leadership transformed Porsche into a highly profitable company – one that Volkswagen has now taken over. Today, Porsche is celebrating 10 years of the Cayenne, and 100,000 examples of the second-generation model.

The second-generation Cayenne 100,000 is a Pure White V-8 model, on its way for delivery to a customer in Brazil. The second generation Cayenne has hit the 100,000 figure at a much faster rate than the original. Sales are continuing to go up too – at the end of this month Porsche will add a third shift at the plant. The current Cayenne went on sale in May of 2010. Last year, a total of over 93,800 Porsches rolled off the line, a record amount.

The 10 year milestone includes the anniversary of the Leizpig plant where the Cayenne is built. Porsche built the factory 10 years ago on a greenfield site specifically for production Cayenne. Leizpig is the plant that purists hate – it also added the Panamera a few years back. Since it started production, over 70,000 Panameras have been built. That makes it a startling success. What’s more is that the small crossover Cajun will be coming on line at the end of 2013. If history is any guide, the Cajun should follow in the footsteps of the Cayenne and Panamera. While they’re on a kick increasing models though, we’d like to see a new small roadster, 928 GT successor and a flagship super car.

A few days ago, we reported news about the status of Volkswagen’s BlueSport concept. After hearing about its eventual production ever since the North American International Auto Show in 2009, it appears its debut is on hold.

The BlueSport has been developed, but VW apparently doesn’t think it can find enough buyers to make the business plan work. We still think the roadster will see the light of day when all is said and done, but more ominous news comes about the project from Porsche. There has long been an assumption that three roadsters would be based on the new VW Group platform: Audi R4, VW BlueSport and a Porsche small roadster. The Porsche model would be a modern 914 of sorts, slotting in below the Boxster. It would be part of a plan to boost Porsche’s global sales.

New models are in the works for Porsche as the brand aims to increase sales – the small crossover Cajun is up next. Automotive News reports that a small Porsche’s platform variant, like the VW, has been delayed.

Chief Executive Officer Matthias Mueller spoke to a German business magazine Wirtschaftswoche, saying: ”Possibly we need to wait until the next generation of customers before the idea of a small roadster will work for Porsche.” Next generation of customers? What is that supposed to mean? In February Matthias made more positive comments about Porsche’s consideration of the idea.

AN says the worry is over the roadster “diluting Porsche’s image.” We think if the brand is adding cars that aren’t inherently sporting in nature, like the Cajun, it should be adding enthusiast-aimed vehicles as well. Matthias did say a new range-topping model is on its way though, to slot in above the 911. Whether or not this is a mid-engined model, a la Carrera GT or a front-engined successor to the 928 GT. We should be hearing more about the small roadster’s status as well as the new range-topper soon.

Sometime manufacturers wait until an auto show is over to release a car, in order to get maximum exposure. The North American International Auto Show just ended (for the press anyway).

While we saw a whole host of debuts from different companies there, Porsche didn’t bring much new to the table. With this age of new media, they decided to wait until after. They’re saving the 2013 Porsche Boxster for a physical debut in Geneva this May, but we get the full reveal, pictures and specifications well in advance of that. Nice one guys.

The Boxster has looked remarkably similar ever since its introduction in 1996. For most of us, that’s just the way we like it. Mid-engined, the Boxster has carved out a spot for itself in the Porsche lineup. Less you think this is just a freshening, the 2013 Boxster actually is a whole new generation.

The 2013 Boxster has a longer wheelbase, wider trick and an aluminum body that helps reduce weight versus the previous generation car. The front windshield has been moved forward and there is shorter overhangs. You may not notice the changes at a glance looking at the the exterior though. That is because the exterior remains pretty similar. There are new, stacked headlights, added side body details and surfacing, along with a new back end design with a horizontal lip spoiler integrated into the headlight.

Porsche says the Boxster is 15 percent more efficient than the previous car. It wouldn’t be a new generation without at a least a little power bump, and the Boxster now makes 315 horsepower. That is up by 5 hp. Not a big difference, but the Boxster never really lacked power. It has less weight to lug around now too, although Porsche isn’t saying how much. The Boxster will offer your choice of an old-fashioned six-speed manual or Porsche’s seven speed PDK dual-citchy tranny. The 2013 Boxster goes on sale this summer, starting at $49,500.

It’s always an exciting time in the automotive industry when a new Porsche 911; it is an icon. At the Los Angeles International Auto Show, the next-genereation 2012 Porsche 911 was shown off for the first time at an American auto show.

That wasn’t the first time it was in the United States altogether though; in October Porsche brought the 911 to the Rennsport Reunion IV at Laguna Seca. The 911 Cabriolet makes its debut today, indicating Porsche is looking to quickly ramp up sales of the new model. It has an unique new soft top design though that Porsche says saves weight. While other companies like Ferrari offer a retractable hardtop model, Porsche has opted to stick with a soft top to save weight. It isn’t a traditional soft top though.

The 911 Cabriolet has a design that ditches the layered fabric construction of the previous model. Instead, the 2012 (or most likely a 2013) Porsche 911 Cabriolet has a composite canvas that is stretched over a magnesium frame.

Magnesium is a lightweight material, and it follows an intense effort to reduce weight on the new 911, despite being larger. It has another, very important aesthetic function though. For the first time, Porsche says the 911 Cabriolet will have the same classic roofline as the coupe model. This is big! It is one of the reasons we have never really been a a fan of convertibles.

Cabriolet models look great with the top down but they often look frumpy with the top up; this has definitely been the case with the 911 in the past. The Cabriolet has the same engine options as the coupe, meaning a standard 3.4-liter flat six-cylinder pumping out 350 horsepower. The base model Carrera Cabriolet starts at $97,300, while the turbo S checks in at $108,800. Check out our gallery below and a promo video of the latest and greatest 911 convertible.

With all the talk of Porsche expanding its lineup, the tendency is to center around cars that hard core enthusiasts roll their eyes at. The Cajun small SUV is destined to be the next entry to Porsche’s lineup, but we like what we are hearing about some of the other possibilities. One that has been oft-discussed is a new 928 GT, and that would be perfect given the Panamera platform is there to form a basis. The other is a small mid-engined roadster that would slot in below the Boxster. CAR Magazine reports that work is being done on a model, referred to as the “550.” The 550 is far from receiving an official green light, however. CAR reports that the 550 is in the engineering feasibility stage. That means specific numbers are being evaluated, to decide whether the business plan will make sense. The car has been reportedly nixed before due to the numbers just not working out.

With Porsche becoming part of the vast Volkswagen Group empire though, the dynamics might have changed. The proposed mid-engined small Porsche could share a platform with Audi and Volkswagen (Blue Sport Concept) variants.

For us, the question is when does the Porsche model become too similar to the other platform derivatives? It would make sense to have one model at the high-end, the Porsche (or the Audi if need be) and then the VW Blue Sport at the low end. Curiously though, CAR reports that the Audi model would have the top billing, with all-wheel drive and a five-cylinder engine making 340 horsepower. That doesn’t make much sense at all.

Recent history shows that Audi has a lot of sway though; it pretty much gets to do what it wants even if that means stepping on another brand’s toes. One way to differentiate would be different variants, like a speedster, coupe, and shooting brake. CAR reports those are all under consideration, and that the Porsche 550 (we’re pretty sure that name won’t be making it to production) would be powered by a new 1.9-litre flat four-cylinder that Porsche is developing. The engine would make around 210 horsepower, well enough power for the lightweight 550. If approved, the 550 would be a modern-day 914….one likely to be a lot cooler than the original.

As they say, records are meant to be broken. Nurburgring track times have always been a point of contention with the performance manufacturers. Porsche in particular has been voracious about maintaining its dominance at the track. After a spat with Nissan (who made a run for it with the GT-R) over who was the top dog, Porsche set the record in April 2010 with the 911 GT2 RS at 7 minutes and 18 seconds. That record stood until this month when Lexus shaved four seconds off that time, setting a new record with the LFA Nurburgring Edition. It was manufacturer-sponsored effort, with race driver Akida Iida behind the wheel. While Porsche’s record stood for over a year, Lexus will have to do with just a few weeks.

The rabble rousers at Dodge decided to make hay by taking the street-legal 2010 Viper SRT10 ACR badk to track. While it is now discontinued, two new models were selected from dealer Tomball Dodge’s showroom in Tomball, Texas. Dodge previously took to the track with a 2008 model Viper SRT-10 ACR, and posted a time of 7:22.10.

The 2010 model features a few minor changes, like an updated aerodynamics kit and a shorter final drive ratio of from 0.74 to 0.80. With the updated model, Dodge set a new record of 7:12.13, 10 seconds faster than in 2008 and good enough to beat the Lexus record. The record is for a mainstream production manufacturer vehicle; as far as publicly available vehicles in general cars from Gumpert and Radical place higher.

However, Dodge can legitimately say they beat the LFA Nurburgring’s time. Lexus still has the fastest Nurburgring vehicle that is available for sale though. So there you have it Porsche, that’s the new standard. With the standard 911 cutting 13 seconds off the previous generation’s lap time, something tells us future GT3 and GT2 models will be up to the challenge. Porsche has a long history at the Nurburgring in regards to setting various records at the track. A while back there was a public back-and-forth between Porsche and Nissan over the record. Porsche settled it with the 911 GT2 RS, with a 7 minute and 18 second time.

That record was set in April 2010, and it stood until late August when Lexus posted a time of 7 minutes and 14 seconds with the LFA Nurburgring Edition. Th LFA is an all-new car, however, and these numbers are being compared to the previous generation 911. With the all-new seventh generation model, things will be different. To prove how much different, Porsche released Nurburgring numbers for the standard 911.

The new car posts a time of 7 minutes and 40 seconds, cutting 13 seconds off the 997′s lap time! That is extremely impressive figure, and it is enough to beat the 997 GT3′s time. With that kind of improvement, we can only imagine what numbers future high-performance 911 GT3 and GT2 models will post at the track.

The time was set in the new car, equipped Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch transmission and Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control. The new 911 sports a suspension lowered by 20 millimeters, as well as a reduction in weight anywhere from 77-100 pounds depending on trim level. That overall reduction comes despite the addition of 176 pounds in new components. Things like heavier wheels and stronger body structure parts to meet more stringent present and future crash test regulations were added. Weight was able to reduced by the select use of aluminum in key areas, as well as a complete rethinking of all the 911′s parts.

Porsche vehicle line director August Achleitner says the company looked at motorcycle parts for guidance: “We had several workshops and we laid out all the parts on the table and discussed them and compared with motorcycle parts and why are they so light and we are heavy and then changed them again.” It looks like Porsche’s efforts at reducing weight and increasing performance have paid off handsomely.

The Frankfurt Motor Show is just around the corner, starting next month. But as is typical in this age of the internet, the most important launches are usually seen well before then.

Perhaps the biggest launch scheduled for the show has been the next-generation Porsche 911. This is a car everyone has been looking for. New images of the 911 have been leaked out, showing the (modest) styling changes to Porsche’s stalwart.

It – surprise – looks very 911-like! What were you expecting, a radical change? They could have pushed the envelope just a little but, but that was never in the works. We’re glad to see the 911 remain true to form. The front end gets larger headlights housing one projector unit, along with LED lighting.

The front fascia has been redesigned and is larger and more aggressive. Out back the taillights are thinner and wider. Overall, all the details have been modernized, making the 911 look current and up to date. It dates the current car.

If the 911 looks larger, that is because it is – about two inches longer and likely wider as well. Underneath, there is new engines. The base car is powered by a 3.4-liter flat six-cylinder with direct injection. It makes 350 horsepower and 280 pound feet of torque. Top shelf (for now, until the high performance models arrive) Carrera S gets a bump in capacity and power to 3.8-liters and 400 hp.

While the interior pictures show an automatic, Porsche isn’t abandoning the manual – in fact it is bumping it up to more gears than before – 7! Buyers will have the option of the 7-speed manual or the PDK dual-clutch system. A lot of the changes to the 911 are underneath the skin, and new details about specifications will come in abundance once Porsche sends out its press release. Likely, we’ll have to wait until September for that.

Making exclusive vehicles into even more limited pieces of motoring mastery, some companies wait on the individuals willing to acquire an enhanced performance luxury car. Often defined as small automotive constructors based on the level of vehicle modifications, almost any popular supercar can be ratcheted-up beyond the original factory.

STaSIS Audi R8 V-10 Challenge Extreme Edition

Born on a V-10 powered Audi R8, West Virginia performance house STaSIS Engineering has turned the already feisty German supercar into a vehicle that can run circles around the Audi rings. A vehicle first presented at the 2010 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the STaSIS Audi R8 5.2 Challenge Extreme Edition tests the widest boundaries for reengineering the mid-engined two-seater. Outfitted with a height adjustable suspension, Alcon brakes and forged 20-inch ultra-lightweight aluminum wheels, the STaSIS Audi R8 V-10 Challenge Extreme Edition vehicle attractive touches are all functional.

The most substantial improvement to the Audi R8 V-10 has major performance tweaks added to the 5.2 liter ten-cylinder powerplant. STaSIS Engineering modifications for the Audi R8 V-10 Challenge Extreme Edition engine is topped by an Eaton / Magnusson TVS 2300 supercharger generating 7.5 PSI of boost pressure. Coupled with engine electronic remapping and a CNC machined intake plenum, 525 horsepower of the factory Audi R8 V-10 is swelled to 710 horsepower through the Challenge Extreme Edition changes.

Netting a 35% greater power level than the stock supercar, the STaSIS Audi R8 Challenge Extreme Edition applies this extra momentum to 0 to 60 mile per hour acceleration times of just 3.1 seconds. The Audi R8 5.2 Challenge Extreme Edition adds $55,995 up to the price of Audi R8 V-10 coupe or roadster.

BMW Alpina B7 BiTurbo

Alpina’s business relationship with BMW started in the 1970s when the eventual car manufacturer operated as a sports car race team. Fielding the BMW 3.0 CSL in competition, Alpina brought their collaboration with BMW to the streets in the 1980s.

While the BMW M division attracts the most attention among enthusiasts, the Alpina B7 BiTurbo supplements the absence of BMW 7 Series version in the M line-up. In its fourth-generation, the Alpina B7 BiTurbo is a super sedan balancing high-performance, electronic ingenuity and luxury comfort. Incorporating its own LAVALINA leather and available piano lacquer interior trim, the performance sedan features a loaded assortment of BMW 7 Series equipment. Parking Distance Control, navigation system, xenon headlamps and control display with iDrive are included on the Alpina B7 BiTurbo.

Distinguishing the Alpina B7 BiTurbo is unique front and rear spoiler pieces as well as some of the most beautiful 21-inch Alpina Classic lightweight wheels. RUF RGT-8

Though Porsche has never produced an eight-cylinder powered 911 sports car, the RUF RGT-8 presents a vehicle to those desiring such a supercar. A packing a lightweight 4.5 liter V-8 engine, the RUF RGT-8 burns pavement with 550 horsepower fed through the rear wheels. An automatic limited-slip differential insures Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires rotate the stylish 19-inch forged alloy wheels. While official performance figures have yet to be released on this 2012 model vehicle, the RUF RGT-8 has a forecasted top speed of 205 miles per hour.

The two-seat interior features a securing protection of a roll-cage structure. Auto racing-inspired interior touches; RUF has also conducted the honoured tradition of weight-savings through the application of aluminum door panels and a carbon fiber rear engine cover.

While the architecture of the RUF RGT-8 is clearly identified with the Porsche 911, RUF Automotive acknowledges themselves as a small auto manufacturer distinct from the German sports car company’s image.

Edo Competition LP750

Outfitting a wide range of vehicles, Edo Competition has modified BMW M5 Touring wagons, Porsche 997s and even Maserati MC12 supercars. From the Lamborghini Murcielago, the Edo Competition LP750 was created this past February. Meant to be the fastest Lamborghini Murcielago ever, the Edo Competition LP750 is shaped with specially-contoured aerodynamic panels. A redesigned rear spoiler and ultra lightweight alloy wheels are worn on the Edo Competition LP750 providing a stylish extension of Lamborghini performance.

Speaking of performance, the Edo Competition LP750 receives a healthy power boost to the 6.5 liter V-12 engine. Totalling 750 horsepower, the special Lamborghini supercar presented by Edo Competition soars from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 3.1 seconds. The Edo Competition LP750 takes just 24.5 seconds for a rush to 186 miles per hour from a standing stop.

As the Aventador replaces the Lamborghini Murcielago as the Italian sports car builder’s flagship, it only seems reasonable to believe an after-factory preparation of the new generation supercar is only a matter of months away.

Brabus 700 BiTurbo

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG immediately impressed with its late 2010 introduction as a spiritual recreation of the 1955 SL300 Gull Wing. The first Mercedes-Benz production vehicle to originate from the AMG speed lab, the supercar arrived with prime performance attributes. Despite the stock SLS AMG’s 563 horsepower and a 197-mile per hour top speed, aftermarket companies have found ways to further dress up the Mercedes-Benz supercar. Long-time Mercedes-Benz outfitter Brabus was one company that quickly issued their exploration of the SLS AMG peak performance.

Lifting horsepower to 700 horsepower by adding a twin-turbocharger system to the 6.3 liter V-8 engine, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is turned into the Brabus 700 BiTurbo. While the stock SLS AMG’s 0 to 60 mile per hour acceleration of 3.7 seconds remains largely unchanged, the Brabus 700 BiTurbo’s enhancements come at the top end. Unlimited top speed potential of 700 horsepower allows this Brabus supercar to sail up to 213 miles per hour.

Besides the advantages of raw horsepower, the Brabus 700 BiTurbo supercar is suited for a dramatic motoring experience. Possessing a special high performance exhaust featuring a pneumatic flap, the driver can adjust the engine note for a more civilized purr or a full grunt roar. The Brabus 700 BiTurbo can also be opted with the WIDESTAR body conversion kit adding additional genuine carbon fiber pieces on the exterior and interior.

Priced at the equivalent of $349,690 in US money, the Brabus 700 BiTurbo is a rocket ride left affordable to only a few land-based pilots.

Porsche’s lineup and technology has changed a lot over the years. One thing that has remained remarkably the same however is the Porsche 911.

With every passing generation it gets more powerful, with more technology and features than ever before, but it still has retained its iconic styling and rear-engined platform. The 911 is a revered model by enthusiasts and those disinterested in cars (could there really be such a thing?!) alike. But it wasn’t always this way – there was one point where Porsche expected the 911 would die out.

Its replacement? The 928 GT, which launched in 1978. The 928 GT was the top-end model in the Porsche lineup when it debuted, entering a territory Porsche never played in before.

While it proved to have much longevity (which is a good thing, given its high development budget), being in production from 1978 to 1995, it never replaced the 911. Now, it could be returning yet again – but this time there isn’t any delusions of the 911 going away.

Autocar says a new 928 GT is on the table, for an introduction around the same time as the second-generation of the Panamera. That would peg the timeframe at around 2014 or 2015. One apparent issue with its introduction is production capacity at Porsche’s Leizpig plant, which produces the Panamera. The Panamera has been a successful seller, and the plant is already scheduled for a second vehicle line, the upcoming Cajun small SUV.

The next-generation Panamera platform has the potential to be shared with other brands in the VW Group, like Bentley and Bugatti. That will reduce costs and increase economies of scale. A new 928 GT seems like the best new product line we’ve heard being discussed from Porsche in a long time.

It makes sense – the GT market has grown significantly and is a ripe segment for Porsche to compete in. If Porsche is looking to expand in sales (which it clearly is) this sure seems like a good way to do it.

Producing the Porsche Cayenne Hybrid and later the Panamera Hybrid, some of the most exciting news has been based around the 911 GT3 R Hybrid race car as well as the eventual production of the plug-in hybrid 918. A spawn of Porsche’s proud, historic racing traditions, the GTS moniker returned last September as a high-end variant of the normally-aspirated Carrera line of the Porsche 911. Supplying 408 horsepower within a wide body style, the Porsche 911 Carrera GTS struck a chord with sports car fans seeking some extra thrill against the accelerator. Available in coupe and cabriolet versions, the splendour of the Porsche GTS treatment was reserved only for the rear-wheel drive model. Due to popular demand, the GTS treatment is now being made available on the all-wheel drive Porsche 911 Carrera 4 version.

Advertised as an all-weather sports car, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS is furnished with the full range of enhancements found on the already-available rear wheel version. Though equally as enchanting to observe, the exterior treatment of the 911 Carrera 4 GTS may be less spectacular. While the rear wheel drive Porsche 911 Carrera GTS added rear width by expanding the wheel arches by 44 millimeters (1.73 inches), this more aggressive bodywork is already present on the Carrera 4 model. Porsche has integrated some unique combinations to set the 911 Carrera 4 GTS apart from its other all-wheel drive siblings. The SportDesign package lends a special front apron while the Porsche GT2 shares its black side skirts with the 911 Carrera GTS edition. The all-wheel drive Porsche wears black-painted 19-inch RS Spyder.

Like the 911 Black Edition, the interior of the Carrera 4 GTS utilizes dark tones for a timeless, professional sports car enivronment. Alcantara is applied heavily to the interior to replicate the look and feel of a purpose-built race car. Porsche Communication Management with Bluetooth and Sound Package Plus will be is included standard on all 911 Carrera 4 GTS models.

Overcoming allure of the racier look, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS is ready to respond to the driver with a 3.8 liter flat-6 engine. Refined with the 23 horsepower boost over the standard 911 Carrera, this vehicle, of course, embarks the first time this extra momentum is sent to all four wheels. Acceleration runs in the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS is a 0.3 second improvement over the PDK transmission-equipped 911 Carrera 4S model. Top speed is also bettered through the GTS performance upgrades as speed up to 187 miles per hour is achievable on this 911 Carrera 4 sports car.

Another sub model of a Porsche creation, the Carrera 4 GTS has shown the German sports car company expanding their product offerings to a level ice cream parlours would envy. Rolling out this fall in the United States, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS will be sold either for $110,200 as a coupe or $120,100 as the Cabriolet model.

Considered a ‘baby 911’, the Boxster-derived Porsche Cayman launched in 2006 as a mid-engined coupe. Without enjoying the vast assortment of models such as the Porsche 911 line-up, the Cayman still provided intrigue with the Cayman S model. At the past Los Angeles Auto Show, Porsche added some variety to the model range by taking the covers off the high-flying Cayman R model for 2011. Deciding not to end the party for Cayman fans, Porsche is officially bringing black to their entire two-door sports car line-up. As the 911 and Boxster enchanted us with the mystery of the Black Edition, Porsche’s entry-level Cayman S coupe receives the special treatment.

Shimmering with the same solid black paint coating as its sister, the Porsche Cayman S Black Edition is marvellously portraying the European sports car at the peak of attraction. Maintaining the Cayman S Black Edition’s exterior, Boxster Spyder 19-inch wheels are also painted dark. Auto-dimming mirrors, bi-xenon headlamps and special twin exhaust tailpipes are found included on each 2012 model of the Porsche Cayman S Black Edition.

The interior of the Porsche Cayman S Black Edition continues to spark the spirit of this special car. Performance from the Porsche 3.4 liter flat-6 engine receives a minor perk-up over the Cayman S edition. Adding 10 horsepower, the Porsche Cayman S Black Edition is propelled through the results of mechanically created 330 horses. To obtain the most desirable acceleration, the Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is an option. Providing acceleration from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 4.6 seconds when the Cayman S Black Edition is equipped with the Sport Chrono Package, the PDK allows the Porsche to achieve above 20 miles per gallon in average fuel economy. The 2012 Porsche Cayman S Black Edition’s fuel mileage is rated at 20 miles per gallon city and 29 miles per gallon highway.

Unlike the Black Edition of the Porsche 911, the Porsche Cayman S variant offers a transmission option. For sports car purists, a 6-speed manual gearbox offers a reasonably low-tech operation allowing driver and machine to be married in the art of performance movement. Giving up fuel economy over the more precise PDK transmission (losing 1 city and 3 highway miles per gallon), the six-speed manual equipped Porsche Cayman S Black Edition does allow an incremental top speed increase bringing the car up to 173 miles per hour.

Existing in only 500 Porsche Cayman S models, the Black Edition will retail for $67,500 in United States. Each model comes numbered with a special Cayman S Black Edition plaque on the dash.
