2007 Chicago Auto Show Review - Part 2

Here’s the second part of the 2007 Chicago Auto Show Update. Be sure and view Part 1 if you haven’t yet. Continuing on, here is an overview of the Auto Show. Don’t worry, only the coolest cars are listed here, nothing boring :) In Part 1, I went over some of the major concepts and unveilings that the manufacturers had for us. In Part 2 I would like to continue on, starting with this beautiful concept:

Mazda didn’t do much at this years show, other than showing off the Ryuga Concept at their display.

Mazda Ryuga Concept

The Ryuga is really cool looking in person, but it’s really hard to see it’s nice curves in photos. The Ryuga is simply a design concept, meant to show you the direction Mazda is facing in the design of its new vehicles. The Ryuga shows this well with its curvy, nature-inspired lines.

2007 Chicago Auto Show

2007 Chicago Auto Show

The 2007 Chicago Auto Show is coming up in a couple of months (Feb 9-18, 2007,) and just like every year, I’ll be there bright-eyed and bushy-tailed. You’ll see plenty of coverage here at AutomoBlog shortly after the show. Every once in a while I check up on the Chicago Auto Show website, and there have been a few recent updates on the vehicles that will be present. I’m really excited about quite a few of them, and there are always more cars at the show than the website lets on. Here are some of the cars that I’m especially excited about:

eBay Find: What is it?

hahaha, I honestly couldn’t stop laughing at this. Apparently it’s a high-quality Lamborghini replica. Of what, I’m not sure. Kinda looks like they were torn between a Ferrari Enzo and a Lamborghini Countach, but they didn’t get either one right.

Lambo? Enzo? Fiero?

Wow.

the chance of a lifetime to own what looks like a REAL Lamborgini (sic) for a fraction of the price.

I’m going to go ahead and disagree with that one. The auction is filled with obvious typos and claims that this car looks truly authentic. You must go look at the auction itself as there are many more pictures for you to stare at in amazement, trying to figure out who would fall for this.

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 - Video

Lamborghini Murcielago LP640

I really can’t say enough about the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640; it’s amazing. Even with the Murci starting the “tamer” generation of Lambos, the thing is a beast. The LP640 ups the base Murcielago by increasing the engine displacement to 6.5 liters, the horsepower to 640, and updating the exterior with a much more modern, aggressive stance with really cool wheels.

Here is a video showcasing the supercar on Top Gear. Beautiful.

Must See: Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Pagani Factory Tours

While in Italy, a user over at bcsportbikes.com was lucky enough to take tours of the Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Pagani factories. On the tour, he took a lot of pictures and was kind enough to share them with us. There are also a couple of videos worth checking out. One of a Lamborghini LP640, and another of the Ferrari FXX on Ferrari’s own Fiorano test track.

Lamborghini Showroom

He took some excellent pictures of the whole tour, with explanations and details. Anybody who is a fan of the Italian exotic cars must take a look at these. Sadly, he wasn’t allowed to take pictures of the manufacturing floor in any of the plants, but he does briefly explain his experience on the floor. One of the coolest parts (in my opinion,) is the Lamborghini Museum, which is the first set of pictures. You get to see all of the Lamborghinis ever made, including some that weren’t. It also gives a great history of Lamborghini that is very interesting to see. In the Pagani factory he even notices something that hints at a new (not Zonda) supercar!

Anyway, go check out the Factory Tours Post. And for your sake, I hope you have a fast internet connection!
