Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SV
Instead of our usual random Sunday video, here’s a nice promo video of the Lamborghini Murciélago SuperVeloce doing some driving and sliding around. With the Murcielago SV, we get to see a proper Lambo again, which is becoming increasingly rare in recent models. It’s loud, ridiculous, and out of this world.
The Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce shown here has a 6.5-liter, 670 horsepower V12, and is lighter than the current Murcielago by about 220 lbs. Lambo will only be making 350 of these beasts. Check out this article for more info about the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. Enjoy the video after the jump: Continue Reading…

Even though things are going les than smoothly for Lamborghini at the moment (for example, they just lost their Orange County dealership), that hasn’t prevented them from moving full steam ahead with new model rollouts. In this case, we’re talking about the new, and highly anticipated Murciélago LP 650-4 Roadster.

Lamborghini Insecta Concept
Ah yes, another fantastic Lamborghini Concept design. This time it’s from Romanian industrial designer Iulian Bumbu. Interestingly, the style inspiration came from the exoskeletons of insects, without straying too far from Lamborghini’s new design style. Structurally, the Insecta Concept (theoretically) is made from carbon fiber, is a typical Lambo 2-seater, and is powered by the same powertrain found in the Lamborghini Gallardo.
“The idea was to create an extreme race-oriented supercar with a style that introduces softer and more organic lines and integrate them into the geometrical style of Lamborghini.” said Bumbu. If you ask me, it looks great, but shares more than a few lines with the custom-built Ferrari P4/5. Also, if Lambo keeps going in the (horrible) direction of the Estoque Concept, don’t expect to see this in your local showroom any time soon. Continue Reading…

Although reports from elsewhere that Ferrari sales are OK, Lamborghini doesn’t seem to be as lucky in weathering the current economic downturn. 2008 was actually a record year for the Bologna based super-car builder, but only three short months into 09, and things aren’t looking so good.
At the Geneva Motor Show this past Wednesday, Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann confirmed that his company has started to receive a significant number of order cancellations.

Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce
It’s Geneva Motor Show time, and that means all of the Euro-goodies come out to play, and in this particular case, we have the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce. It’s more powerful, lighter and faster, and as with all things Lamborghini, it’s styled as subtle as a flying mallet.
