Lamborghini MERIDIIST Luxury Cell Phone from Tag Heuer

Lamborghini Tag Heuer MERIDIISTLamborghini and Tag Heuer teamed up for a new limited edition luxury cell phone. With a design based on the strikingly sexy Lamborghini Murciélago LP 640, the MERIDIIST looks about as cool as a cell phone can look. Only 1963 (the year Lamborghini was founded) copies of this phone will be made, starting at an enormously expensive $7,500.

The phone is constructed from stainless steel and coated in black titanium carbide (really hard stuff,) and you can get it in various colors of leather, alligator skin, or rubber. My favorite: Black calfskin leather with red stitching. The screen is made from sapphire crystal, the same scratch-resistant material high-end watch faces are made from.

The whole phone has a sharp-edged design any Lamborghini lover will adore, although the dimensions and feature design resemble phones from five years ago. The rear is styled after the Murciélago LP 640’s V12 engine block and engraved with your “XXXX/1963″ limited edition number.

Battery life is an impressive seven hours talk time, 28 days standby power. Tech features are a typical 2 megapixel camera and WAP 2.0 browser, quad-band GSM, an ultra-sensitive antenna, an OLED screen on top displaying time, and Lamborghini wallpapers and screen animations.

Worth the price? Not even close, but if you just bought a new Lambo, chances are you’re not worried about saving money on your cell phone bill. Continue Reading…

So, Lamborghini has just announced a new “Retail Finance Plan” of low-interest loans for the 2009 and 2010 Murcielago LP640 Coupe and Roadster, their most exclusive vehicles on the market. Lambo is partnering with Woodside Credit and Volkswagen Credit Inc. to provide the financing programs through authorized dealers in the U.S.

Wait, you have to get auto loans for these things?

Lamborghini Reventón Roadster

Lamborghini Reventon Roadster

The Lamborghini Reventón hit with a considerable splash when in debuted in 2007. Once the show goers from the ‘07 Frankfurt show caught their collective breath, the next thing on their minds was ‘when do we get the convertible version’? The answer is now. Just rolled out at the 09 Frankfurt show comes the latest, and perhaps wildest, ride from Sant’Agata Bolognese.

The whole point about the Reventón Roadster is the engine and what it can do. What it does is this: The 6.5 liter twelve-cylinder cranks out a staggering 670 PS which is good enough to send this ride down the road from 0 to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds and will allow the Reventón Roadster to top out at 205 mph.

Lamborghini LP550-2 - the First RWD Lambo in 10 Years

Lamborghini LP550-2

Back in 2001, when the Diablo was the only car that Lamborghini made, they made a decision to make the car only available with all-wheel-drive. Apparently they liked the idea, because no Lambo since then has been offered in RWD. Until now.

The LP550-2 will be considered the base model - which will be modified from the excellent Lamborghini LP560-4. As you can tell from the name, the new Lambo will produce 550 horsepower, all routed to the rear wheels. I’ve always found RWD cars to be more fun than their AWD counterparts, so I’m particularly impressed with this decision. Continue Reading…

Supercar Sensation Review - Drive 3 Supercars for $300

Supercar Sensation

You’re probably familiar with supercar tours by now, which include World Class Driving, Road & Track Live, and Gotham Dream Cars. These tours let you and a small group of people take some of the wildest supercars on the road for a drive. Most of these tours travel across the US, and some travel overseas. The problem with these tours is that they range from $1500 to $6400. While this may be a fair deal for a once-in-a-lifetime experience, it’s out of most people’s price range. What most people don’t know is that there are some smaller but similar supercar tours, and they can be much easier on your wallet.

We recently had a chance to meet up with one of those groups based out of Charlotte, NC called Supercar Sensation. Started just last year, Supercar Sensation gets you into seven different supercars starting at only $200 - a much more affordable option for most. But are you going to get the same experience as the more expensive options? While it may be less expensive, could it be a lesser value than the rest? Continue Reading…

Drive a Lamborghini with Valentino Balboni

Valentino Balboni

Talk about something to brag to your friends about. This June, Gotham Dream Cars - an exotic car rental company - is offering their first ever “Legends Dream Car Tour” in the New York area. The company, which normally offers exotic car rental services and group drives (much like World Class Driving,) struck a deal with legendary Lamborghini test driver Valentino Balboni.

The “Legends” tour will have four total sessions over two days (June 9 & 10, 2009.) The drive will cost a hefty $1495 per driver, but how many other chances will you have to drive with Valentino Balboni? Participants will get four hours total to pilot five cars, 20-30 minutes each. The cars will consist of a Lamborghini LP 560-4 Spyder, Gallardo Spyder, Murcielago, Murcielago LP 640 Roadster, and one other. It would be a very cool idea on this special occasion to offer a couple of classic Lambos to drive, such as the Diablo, Countach, or Miura. Continue Reading…
