08 Gallardo front

Well alrighty then … Lamborghini, those fine folk from Sant’Agata Bolognese that can’t get over a grudge (who’d a thunk it, Italians that can’t let go) have taken the wraps off the latest Gallardo, named or designated or something LP560-4.

Yeah, looks a lot like a Lamborghini, doesn’t it. Smaller & lighter than it’s bigger brother, it still packs a wallop with a (purportedly) 560 HP engine, which should move it down the road with ease. Having all wheel drive will make it a less hairy experience from Lambos past.

It also tips the scales at a light for Lambo measurement of 3102 pounds. Sadly, that’s the dry weight, so at the curb, ready to go, with your couch-shaped butt ensconced in it’s “Luxurious individuality” & “Workmanship of the highest quality” seats, that figure would probably be around 3500? Anyway, a lot.

BFPerformance Lamborghini Murcielago GT 660

Why do the official names of some of these tuned cars have to be so long? Regardless, the BF Performance Murcielago GT 660 is worth the extra keystrokes. This version of the Murcielago comes with an enhanced aerodynamic body kit including a two-piece adjustable front spoiler which significantly increases downforce, a three-part rear diffuser, new side skirts for aesthetic enhancements, and your choice of two spoilers; a racing-type rear spoiler, and a more traditional Lamborghini-style wing.

In addition to the aerodynamic improvements, BF Performance has increased power by 25 horsepower, and added an impressive 25-piece interior carbon fiber kit. They’ve even went to the extent of offering an optional enhanced entertainment package with 15 new components, a more ergonomically superior steering wheel, and wheels anywhere from 19 to 21 inches in diameter. Lamborghini Reventon

Lamborghini revealed it’s newest creation yesterday at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Named Reventon, the new supercar is based off of the Murcielago LP640.

The Reventon is Lamborghini’s first seven-figure car, costing an astronomical $1,400,000, and is said to be inspired in design by a jet-fighter. Only 20 are set to be made, and all of them are already taken (not surprising,) with a hefty $300,000 deposit. Continue Reading…

German tuner Hamann is at it again. This time they’re taken the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and turned it into what they like to call a “Stealth Bomber on four wheels.”

The kit includes a new double-pipe stainless sports rear silencer and a high-flow catalytic converter. Aesthetically, the modified Murci sports a new front and rear spoiler in either fiberglass or carbon-Kevlar, and also includes a two-part rear diffuser with additional air hoses for the side air intakes, and new side skirts. Hamann also throws in a set of 20-inch alloy wheels… Continue Reading…

Why does Germany get all the coolest tuners? This time it’s Edo Competition, and they managed to take the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 and turn it into more of a beast than it already is. On top of an ECU tuning, Edo added special high-flow air filters, a high-flow exhaust system, specially designed rear wing, a carbon fiber interior, and a few other extra features.

These modifications bring the Murcielago to 663 horsepower, lets the beast reach 62mph in 3.4 seconds from a stop, and gives it a top speed of 216 mph. While not a groundbreaking increase in power or speed, it’s enough to inch past all those pesky Murcielagos challenging you at the stoplight.

While at the New York International Auto show (NYIAS) I was lucky enough to gaze upon the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. Now, not only is the name a mouthful but just looking at the car made my mouth agape. The Gallardo Superleggera at the NYIAS was in a Borealis orange with dark gun metal gray wheels. The car is powered Lamborghini’s latest version of the 530HP V10 that revs all the way up to 8,000 rpm.
