Ferrari Debuts New Lap-Time Watch

Ferrari-Watch-0.jpg

Finally, a Ferrari I can afford, more or less. In case you hadn’t noticed (although I did) Ferrari has been producing a TON of gear over the past however-long. They even have Ferrari stores where you can not only buy the usual car-maker stuff like t-shirts and whatnot, but also stuff like desk sets and bathrobes and even parts and bits and bobs off of old race cars. This being Ferrari, the stuff is amazingly expensive (think $80 polo shirts) but not all of it is too far out of line – I mean, after all, this is a pretty nice watch.

Ferrari 458 Italia - The F430’s Successor is Finally Here

Ferrari 458 Italia

It seems like only yesterday that Ferrari stopped producing the 360 Modena (one of my favorite all-time cars) to replace it with the more capable (but less attractive) F430. In fact 2005 was the last year for the 360, which means the F430’s life cycle is almost over, according to Ferrari’s standards.

There’s been a lot of speculation about what the F430’s successor will impose, and now we have details from Ferrari themselves regarding the new mid-engine GT. Continue Reading…

Inden Design Makes a Ferrari F430 Spider

IndenDesignF430Spider.jpg

What you see here is a Ferrari F430 Spider that has been modified by an outfit called Inden Design. It’s got all sorts of bells and whistles, and, if you listen to Inden, is better, faster, more well appointed and handles better than the original.

Sure, I guess they could be right. I’ve got no reason to doubt them, but my question about people like Inden Design and other outfits that think it’s a good idea to mess around with stuff like Ferraris and Porsches and etc., is why?

Novitec Rosso Tunes the Ferrari 16M Scuderia Spider

Novitec Rosso Ferrari 16M Scuderia Spider

Not satisfied being one of the 499 people who own a Ferrari 16M Scuderia Spider? Need more exclusivity than that? Don’t worry - Novitec Rosso has your back.

They’ve taken the new lightweight Ferrari convertible and made it even more exclusive - and expensive. The big change here is the power. Novitec has added their own Bi-Compressor system, adding on two belt-driven superchargers tuned to only 7 psi. This new forced induction system increases power to 696 hp - a jump of 186 hp over stock. That’s like taking the Scuderia Spider and adding a V6 Dodge Magnum! Continue Reading…

Edo Ferrari California Spider Gets 500hp

edo Ferrari California

The brand new Ferrari California has hardly had a chance to take a breath on Ferrari dealer’s lots, and German tuner Edo Competition has already taken one and given it the “edo treatment.”

The new California is Ferrari’s new entry-level car, if there is such a thing. The California’s front-mounted 4.3-liter V8 produces 460 horsepower - almost as much as its older brother, the F430.

Edo Competition took this car and added special 20- or 21-inch wheels with a variety of designs, and a lowered and sport-tuned suspension, custom tuned to each customer’s specifications. Edo can also re-tune the California’s ECU to produce 500hp, and along with a high-flow exhaust system (with adjustable butterfly valves,) is enough to propel the Edo Ferrari California from 0-62 mph in only 3.9 seconds, and reach a top speed of 196 mph.

Ferrari To Add Green To Its Red

Luca

Here’s some interesting, and long rumored news that turns out to be true: Ferrari, makers of the best cars in the world, is going green, instituting a host of enviro-friendly initiatives and green products in the near future.

Ferrari chief executive Amadeo Felisa confirmed that the Maranello-based company is looking into two approaches to make their products greener and more environmentally friendly. Specifically, Ferrari is looking into turbocharging as route to maintain power outputs and E85 bio-ethanol as a fuel. Chief executive Felisa states that Ferrari will throw the full weight of its technical know-how into ensuring that turbocharged engines retain Ferrari’s trademark high-revving feel, as well as delivering that all important power and torque to the tarmac, as expected by Ferrari customers. Felisa also revealed that the ECU on the company’s latest model, the California, is already ready set up to burn E85.
