2009 Ford Warriors in Pink Mustang

Due to the success of the 2008 “Warriors in Pink” Mustang, Ford announced today that it will be doubling their contribution to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation - now $500 for each car sold. They will be produced in limited numbers - 1,000 units total for this year, available at your local Ford dealer this summer.

2009 Ford "Warriors in Pink" Mustang badgeThe Warriors in Pink Edition will be available on the Mustang V6 Coupe and Convertible models. The updates include a unique grille, a pink ribbon fender badge, pink side rocker tape striping, charcoal leather seats with pink stitching, a steering wheel with pink stitching, and charcoal floormats with pink ribbon. The exterior colors available will black, silver and white, all of course with the pink stripes down the center and sides.

All-in-all it’s a great idea for a great cause, but don’t expect too many men on the lots looking for pink stripes all over their Mustangs.

The 2008 Lexus IS-F, Spotlight of the New York Auto Show

Lexus has developed a new breed of sport sedan with their performance orientated 2008 Lexus IS-F. This version of the IS is powered by a 5.0 liter V8 that puts out 407HP and 350 ft.-lbs. of torque. Lexus is aiming at BMW’s M3 and Audi’s RS4 when they modified the current IS to this beast. The IS-F tears up the pavement with a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds, not bad for a rear wheel drive Japanese sedan.

New York International Auto Show Review - Part 1

This years New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) was quite the gathering. We had the opportunity to view some amazing debuts from major manufacturers. Car makers such as Subaru, Audi, Hyundai and Infiniti showed off some their latest models at the show and gave great presentations.

One of the interesting aspects of the show was the promotion and display of green technology. Of course with rising gas prices, one would expect for this trend to catch on. A unique exhibition at the NYIAS was the taxicab centennial display. There will be a special posting for this exhibit later on. Now, on to the cars!

Audi showed us the sport tuned version of their new coupe model, the S5. The Audi S5 is based off of the A4 platform and is a hardtop but Audi will eventually release a convertible version by years end. Audi will be using the same 4.2 liter V8 used in the S4 with some updated injection technology for the S5 version. The horsepower rating for the engine is 354hp and will be paired with a six speed manual transmission to Audi’s all wheel drive system.
