It started with lining toy cars up on his bed followed by auto themed articles for his high school paper. From there, it was Sioux Falls Ford as a Master Certified Sales Consultant, then sister dealership Luxury Auto Mall of Sioux Falls (Cadillac, Mercedes, BMW, Sprinter) recruited him. Carl would later assume a critical management role for the organization and mentor numerous employees. At the same time, his voice was heard across South Dakota on radio station KELO-FM and his writings were featured monthly in 605 Magazine, The Motor Market, and The Sioux Falls Business Journal. Carl now lives in Detroit and represents multiple automakers as a sales trainer, vehicle coach and Right Seat Host. Driving Etiquette Around The World

Driving Etiquette Around The World

Perhaps it’s time for that dream vacation? Saved the pennies and dimes, got time off work, and even packed without forgetting anything (miracle).  The plane lands, pick up the rental car – so far so good, but now comes exposure to an entirely new driving culture and infrastructure. Danielle and I recently watched the late […]

Chevy Tahoe: Law Enforcement's Big Dog

Chevy Tahoe: Law Enforcement’s Big Dog

Men and women in law enforcement risk their lives to keep us safe.  Detroit’s 3rd Precinct is near where I live.  They maintain a steadfast watch on our New Center neighborhood with routine patrols. In Michigan, just like in other parts of the United States, you may often see another type of law enforcement entity. […]

Ice Cream Machine: A Tasteful History

Ice Cream Machine: A Tasteful History

I absolutely love ice cream.  It’s one of my guilty pleasures. I grew up in LeMars, Iowa, home of Wells’ Blue Bunny.  My childhood was filled with flavors like Homemade Vanilla, Cookie Dough, and the infamous Bunny Tracks. There are many like the latter but don’t for one second be fooled. Bunny Tracks is the […]

2015 Ford F-150: A Good Sport

2015 Ford F-150: A Good Sport

The 2015 Ford F-150 resembles the Mustang.  Seems unlikely, perhaps even impossible, yet the two are “linked” not so inexplicably, although wonderfully. The transmission technology for the Mustang and F-150 were created in unison and that becomes strikingly obvious when the best selling truck enters Sport Mode. Sport Mode allows F-150 to mirror the performance of the […]

FCA’s Climate Test Facilities simulate adverse environmental conditions to measure vehicle endurance and durability. FCA automobiles, in turn, […]
