2016 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Edition 043

Chevy Introduces Realtree Silverado

Many truck enthusiasts enjoy experiencing nature firsthand, using their trucks as the ultimate utility in their hunting and fishing expeditions. Chevrolet, to that end, has launched the Realtree Silverado, an outdoor inspired truck that wraps Chevy truck heritage with the leading name in camouflage.

“The capability of Chevy trucks has always enabled customers to go where they want to go and that’s the inspiration for the new Silverado Realtree Edition,” said Sandor Piszar, Director of Chevrolet Truck Marketing.

Realtree Silverado is offered on 1500 LTZ Z71 crew cab and includes, with the signature exterior camo graphics, an embroidered Realtree logo on the front-seat headrests. The Realtree edition also includes blackout trim, black bow ties, off-road assist steps, and black 20” wheels with all-terrain tires.

Chevrolet and Realtree have a decade long partnership and the arrival of this special edition Silverado comes on the heels of an eye-opening and satisfying experience.

“Working with the team at Chevrolet on this new Realtree Edition Silverado really brought home to me just how important the right truck is for outdoor enthusiasts,” said Realtree President Bill Jordan.  “The men and women at Chevy truly delivered on this project.”

According to Jordan, seeing it built from the ground up was something special.

“You just don’t realize how much goes into building a true performance vehicle until you look behind the scenes,” he said.

In a ultra competitive truck segment, Chevrolet answers with a three truck strategy: Colorado mid-size, Silverado full-size, and Silverado Heavy Duty. The Chevrolet signature construction for each is a high-strength steel body and frame for overall durability. In the 1500 series, Silverado takes on competitors with a trifecta of engine technologies including Direct Injection, Continuously Controlled Variable Valve Timing, and Active Fuel Management, known more commonly as cylinder deactivation.

Each technology lends itself to an optimum balance of fuel efficiency and power. Currently, Chevrolet boasts the most fuel efficient V8 in the segment – 23 mpg in the 5.3L V8 – and the most powerful engine yet in a light-duty truck with the 6.2 V8. It’s paired to an 8-speed automatic with 420 horsepower and a whopping 460 lb-ft of torque.

All 2016 Chevy trucks feature new phone integration via MyLink for safer driving. Owners can now use applications like navigation and messaging through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Android Auto is standard on 7-inch radio screens and planned for 8-inch ones later this year.

The 2016 Realtree Silverado will be available this spring. Notable outdoor figures, such a Michael Waddell of Bone Collector, have routinely expressed their love of Chevy trucks.
