Subaru of America reports a record setting May, totaling 49,561 vehicles sold.  This marks a 12.2 percent gain from May 2014 and the 42nd consecutive month of year-over-year growth.

Year-to-date sales were logged at 228,083 vehicles, a 16 percent gain over the same period last year.

May marked the 15th consecutive month of 40,000+ vehicle sales for Subaru.

Forester, Outback and XV Crosstrek were the heavy hitters with their best May ever.

Legacy held its own nicely with a 64 percent increase in sales from May of 14 as well.

In May, the 165,000th XV Crosstrek was sold.

Our strong sales are a result of Subaru owner loyalty and buyers coming to the brand for the first time,” says Thomas J. Doll, President and Chief Operating Officer of Subaru of America, Inc.

Interest in Subaru vehicles is climbing among car buyers, in particular the Outback.  Consumer trends suggest it was in the top five for most shopped vehicles in May of 2014.

To date, over 1,400,000 Subaru Outbacks have been sold.

Subaru is pushing for sales in excess of 540,000 units this year.

We are pleased to see our sales growth continue and surpass the records we set last year,” Doll said.
