How convenient. Right after I take the Aston Martin Factory tour in Gaydon, Warwickshire, I find the British Motor Museum right next door. So naturally, I pop in for a look around.
Note: The British Motor Museum used to be called the Heritage Motor Centre, but changed its name in 2016.
To be fair, the British Motor Museum isn’t just a museum. Since they’re also right next to the Jaguar Land Rover offices and test track, they offer a Land Rover Experience, allowing you to ride in or drive a Land Rover over their purpose-built multi-terrain track. For the kids, they have a go kart track, and an educational driving program for the teens learning how to drive.
The museum is the main attraction, though, and quite a thorough one at that. Focusing on British cars, obviously, it contains nearly 300 cars within the building, and in addition to the permanent exhibitions in place, they host temporary displays from time to time, adding to the collection.
I’ll go over a few of the museum’s highlights below, then include a photo gallery of most of the museum below that. Be patient – this article contains a lot of pictures.
