I'd get the A5 or either of the other competitors mentioned. The A5 and E-class have a usable trunk, are available with AWD and looks a whole lot better with the top up, or down. Plus, more thought was put into the design of the Mercedes, BMW and the Audi. For instance, there are pop-up roll bars instead of the fixed hoops on the IS. Hoops look great on a Porsche 2 seater, but are an awkward looking afterthought and a clear sign of penny pinching on the Lexus. Apparently most people agree. I've seen maybe a dozen of these on the road ever. While I see the A5/S5 and other german convertibles every day.

Yeah, many convertibles have dedicated space for the top, but since it takes up so much space in the IS-C, it'd be hard to make that work. It's definitely a pain if you keep a bunch of stuff in your truck all the time.

I actually prefer the IS's appearance over the Mercs you listed, but I'm not a Mercedes fan, either.

The retractable top is nice but it sounds like a major pain to have to clean up the trunk every time you want to put it down. When it comes to the profile and lines, I like the SLK or even the E-class convertible better. Both are hard tops too and they look sleeker.
