When SUVs started to get really popular here in the States, most people who bought them got one way bigger than they really needed, because they could and it was the cool thing to do. They got used to having all that excess room, and wouldn't take a second glance at a smaller vehicle. Until now, hopefully. Very few people actually need all that room, and for most, a wagon would more than suffice. It's just a matter of getting them to realize it.

I agree. Seems like a logical choice, or the only choice. For example, I enjoyed the XC70 and think it would make a great replacement for a family's SUV. Not quite as many seats, and it may not have the vastness in the storage area, but it is very capable in both. Maybe it is time people come back to wagons.

They might since no one wants an SUV anymore, and no one really wants to be seen in a minivan. It's all a question of whether or not the American public will start accepting wagons.

I'm surprised, actually, at how (relatively) good the CTS wagon looks, for a wagon. I saw it earlier this year at the Cleveland Auto Show and it looked quite good. Almost cool.

If I had a family, I would definitely consider the CTS wagon.
