That's a good question, and I contacted Audi directly on the matter. It seems they underestimated how popular the LED lights would be, and didn't make them available on the 2009 A4 Premium package. For 2010 models, which will be available in mid-August, the LED daytime running lights will be available on all trim levels of the A4. I hope this answers your question!

Hi Cassie, thanks for the comment. I want the premium plus package lights... but don't want to spend $4,000 just for the lights. The other stuff in the package isn't necessary. Do you know if the headlights on the premium and the premium plus package are the same size? that way I could just buy the premium plus lights and put them on the base model. Thank you!

I test drove the car and I absolutely loved it! the only thing is… I want the premium plus package lights… but don't want to spend $4,000 just for the lights. The ride is smoother, the steering is lighter and more informative, and overall handling is much more involving. I've driven the previous generation A4s and they all suffered from overboosted steering and a stiff suspension. My only issue I found during that brief excursion was an overly busy center stack, but I believe it could be come second-nature to me in short time. They finally have a car to compete with the BMW and Infiniti.

I got to test the new A4 on a race track back in September of last year and I agree with Chris: it really is a vastly improved vehicle.
