Keith, you're missing the point completely. Proper coupes have a different dynamic about them that sedans simply don't have.

Your statement about identical dimensions between a coupe and sedan are way off, and was obviously unfounded. Let's take a couple examples:

Honda Accord

Sedan

Coupe

Wheelbase

110.2

107.9

Length

194.1

190.9

Height

58.1

56.4

Width

72.7

72.8

The Sedan is longer with a longer wheelbase, taller, and thinner than the Coupe. Plus the Accord Coupe has a sportier suspension, and is slightly lighter.

Nissan Altima

Sedan

Coupe

Wheelbase

109.3

105.3

Length

189.8

182.5

Height

57.9

55.3

Weight

3145

3076

Turning Radius

18.0

17.3

The Altima Coupe is smaller, lighter, and more nimble in all aspects.

You're also forgetting that coupes generally look much more sporty and aggressive than their conservative sedan counterparts, and many people like myself prefer those looks. This was just two examples of the most popular mid-size cars; I can find many more.

So who is it that needs to learn about cars?

A high performance sedan looks really cool and you dont look like a single bachelor jerk in it either. Coupes are only made for american pompous asses who refuse to believe that anyone else should ride in comfort besides him and his girl. Here is a clue, the measurements of most coupes that have a corresponding sedan are the same with two or four doors. As far as wheelbase and overall length are concerned. So whats the big deal! And if it bothers you that much take your car seat out of the back when you go cruising. Just a dumb argument altogether. And you say a coupe can be a proper sports car? You need to learn more about cars, dude.
