They won outright in 1959 which is why this year is so special.....50 years ago this year. They also won the fiercely contested GT1 class the last 2 years on the trot. Besides many other second places over the years, I think it''s fair to say that AM have had rather good success at La Sarthe! As far as Gt1, sure, that's nice, but it's not an over all victory. And as far those second places go, I look at that the same way John Surtees does.
