If You Could Own Any Car…

If you could have any car…any car in the world…what would you have? I get this question all the time, and it’s very easy for me to quickly reply with “Koenigsegg CCX, of course.” Heck, it’s easy for any of us car guys to rattle off our favorite supercar - Ferrari Enzo, Bugatti Veyron, Pagani Zonda…

But take a minute to actually think about the question. Let’s say that this car will be your only ride. Would you really want to drive a Pagani Zonda around every day, everywhere you go? The answer is no.

So which cars blend your favorite aspects of those crazy supercars (or your dream car of choice) and everyday usability?

After rethinking the question, would you still choose the $500,000+ supercar, or have you changed your mind?

Me? I’ll take the Audi R8 any day:

Surprisingly comfortable, superbly fast, beautiful engine noise…I could go on.

You know, I think about this question more than I should … like every time I buy a lottery ticket.

And the answer I came up with a while ago was a Lotus 7.

    Why?

    Lack of restraint, mainly.

If I get in a car with 130 HP, I generally end up using all 130 of it. Put me in a car with 430, same deal. So me actually owning something like an Enzo or an R8?

Probably not the bast of ideas.

You know that’s a really good point. I drove the R8 this last weekend along with a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (article pending) and noticed myself having to make a constant effort to not lay on it every chance I got. Owning one of those would be very dangerous for me; I know I’d end up killing myself.

    Tom

We’ve talked about this at great length many times and you know I agree with you 100% choosing the R8.

    4 Cars
    Ferrari F40
Hemi Cuda (70 or 73, not 71 or 72. i hated that grill)
    Mercedes S-Class
Super modified rock crawler. probably a TJ body with a Hemi engine, like they did on Xtreme 4×4.

i could go on and on. i honestly know what my 10 cars would be if i was given them. but i should probably remove my head from the clouds and be content with my 98 Plymouth Breeze

Some good choices in there Rob. At least some of yours are within a realistic price range.
