Top 10 Most Ridiculous Wheels at SEMA 2008
Despite the recession, high gas prices, and a growing rate of unemployment, there is always room in the market for diamond-coated rims. That’s right, among the sea of chrome in the Tires & Wheels portion of SEMA 2008, there were plenty of ridiculous and over-indulgent wheels meant for rap stars, football players, and general high-rolla’z.
Below you will find the Top 10 most ridiculous and ugly wheels we could find at SEMA 2008:
#10
These remind me of a circus tent. Not really sure who they’re going for with these.
#9
Wheels made to look like a barbell weight plate. There were a whole line of these available in different colors.
#8
Might not look terrible on an identically-colored car, but the DUB-ness is undeniable.
#7
Wheels made for a princess with a pink Escalade. 5-spoke design, pink inlays, and a diamond band around each spoke.
#6
These are basically just a mirror with horizontal cuts through it. I couldn’t see this looking good on anything.
#5
Clever idea, you can put up to five of your own pictures or designs in these wheels, one on each spoke. Good idea, but as you might expect, it looks silly.
#4
Proof that some people want more attention drawn to their wheels than the car itself. Avert your eyes, these may blind you.
#3
Nothing flashy about these, just ugly.
Our final two ridiculous wheels of SEMA 2008 come from the same manufacturer: Lexani Wheels. I’m comfortable calling them out here because Lexani makes some other VERY cool wheels, and these wheels below are simply for show.
#2
Partnered with Asanti jewelers, Lexani’s diamond-coated wheel collection shows just how far people will go to out-bling the next guy.
The #1 most ridiculous wheel at SEMA 2008:
What’s so bad about this wheel? It’s 42 inches in diameter. That’s 3 and a half feet wide. I couldn’t even think of anything that this wheel could fit on without extensive modification.
Congratulations to Lexani Wheels for pulling in the top two spots for most ridiculous wheel at SEMA 2008!
Did I miss any? Let me know if you’ve seen any more ridiculous wheels at SEMA.
Our 2 wheels on the list got your attn by the color which was what they were obvioulsy supposed to do. #10and #8 have been 2 of the best selling wheels of all time. Amature at best you are. However I do agree with your opinion of #3-4-5-6-7 and #9 for sure.
Thank you for the comment. Keep in mind this list is all in good fun. You’re right that your two wheels grabbed my attention and were therefore put on the list strictly from the color choice. That’s part of what made them over the top in my opinion. And that’s what this list is…my opinion. I’m glad those wheels sell well, and I wish you continued success. I’m sure someone will see this article and love those wheels, and that’s great.
#8 is nice in the second cap option which isn’t featured, but the full-plate wheel is not my favourite (#10). I’m confused about #6 and have been for a while. It reminds me of an artistically cut carrot. Oddly enough, the name of the wheel is the “Krisp”. It will never go away; people just looove gaudy things.
the #3 work-style wheels are boss. they dont deserve to be on this list.
