Shots of Gordon Murray’s T.25 Leak Out

Huh, this was unexpected. There it sits, all wrapped up like Laura Palmer, Gordon Murray’s upcoming, and supposedly revolutionary T.25 city car, er micro car, er … I guess it’s a car.

Seriously, look at how tiny that thing is.

It is SMALLER than a Fiat 500 and a Mini. Not the new 500 & Mini, the ORIGINAL versions. The new versions are on the outside of this lineup, and they look like delivery trucks by comparison.

Look, I’m a pretty cavalier guy about my own personal safety in a car I’m driving. If I had the garage space (and the budget) I’d probably have a Lotus 7 right now and be more than OK with it. But this T.25? It’s got to give me pause.

The only thing that keeps me from dismissing it out of hand is that Murray is behind it.

He’s a VERY clever guy, and I’m not just talking about the McLaren F1 three-seater either. I’ve seen some of his GP cars sustain HUGE impacts and watch the drivers walk away.

If, and this is a very big if, he can fold that kind of crashworthiness into a car smaller than a hot tub, it might just work. Might.

People looked askance at the Smart in that way too, until one got bopped by TWO trucks and the occupants walked.

If I’d have to bet, I’d bet with Murray.

Can’t wait to see what’s under the wrapping.
