The Aston Martin AM V10, Please Build This

Aston Martin AM V10

The fine, fine folks from Holland’s Autogespot have a real stunner here.

This is the Aston Martin AM V10. Sadly, it is not the product of the boys from Warwickshire, but come from someone called Sabaman..

And internet rumor and computer generated trifle, but oh what a trifle.

See, I think that every car company should have something liek this on their roster of cars. To me, it’s just basic.

All car companies should be run by engineers that understand engineering first and foremost, product cycles and the bottom line can come after that.

All car companies should race. Racing is the crucible that improves the breed. From racing, all good engineering flows.

All car companies should manufacture and sell a no holds barred, mid-engined, two-seat, top-of-the-line flagship sports car that is designed and built to the best of their collective abilities.

In short, Aston Martin should build this car.

More gorgeous pictures after the jump.

Tony, reading your article I not only noticed the car, but also the points you made. What you believe in and understand is something a precious few other people do. Collectively, your points are the truest statements about the automotive industry that I have heard in a long time. On engineering and racing I completely agree, to me, they seem to be hand in hand. Good engineering means good racing— they improve each other, and they both mean better cars. As for your view on mid-engine flagship sports cars, I just don’t know why car manufacturers, especially GM, just won’t build a damn mid-engine car to compete and win against the best of BMW and Mercedes. They can do it, and they would steal a lot of hearts (and money), if they would just have the balls to make a totally insane and unrestricted sports car.
