Scuderia Bizzarrini P538

In the words of Lando Calrissian. “What have we here?”
What we have here is the new (OK, proposed) Bizzarrini P538.
Those old enough to remember, or those gear-headed enough will know the Bizzarrini name. Bizzarrini is, of course a noted Italian designer from the 60s, most well known for designing the body on Ferrari’s 250 GTO (yes, that GTO). He went into the car business himself (beyond just designing) in the mid-60s, but couldn’t really make a go of it and folded in 1969. I knew a guy, an old IMSA GT racer that had a Bizzarrini, as I recall it had a 383 wedge motor in it. Went really well and looked great.
Anyway, this car here is what some folks hope will put the Bizzarrini name back on the automotive map.
To me, it looks like a great idea.
Powered by a mid-mounted Chevrolet LS7 V8, and with that short and wide stance, this thing has Mountain Roads written all over it.
Here’s and idea: when/if the build one of these, take it over to Sicily and give it a good run around the Targa Florio, route.

Hmmm, looks alright, I guess, but it just doesn’t have any flair that makes it worthy of the Bizzarrini name. A much better Bizzarrini concept is the 2006 Bizzarrini GTS 4.1 V Ghepardo, which looks exotic, and if it ever was produced, I think that it would do fairly well.
