With the 2008 Pontiac G8 sure to be a hit when it’s released early next year, Pontiac shows us the G8 GT SEMA Edition; even more of a head-turner than the standard G8. The bright orange paint isn’t for everybody, but it certainly gives it a unique appeal. The orange carries over inside, onto the leather two-tone seat inserts (very cool,) the instrument panel, and the door panels.
The G8 GT SEMA Edition carries the same 362 horsepower V8 found in the production G8 GT, and will also have the same 6-speed automatic transmission with DSC. The show car sports unique 20″ wheels, but the production model will only have a maximum of 19″ wheels on the GT.
I’ve always loved the “burnt orange” color on some cars, and the G8 pulls it off very well, especially with the orange interior accents. Hopefully the 2009 model will offer this vibrant orange as an option. I still wouldn’t consider it unless they start offering the G8 in a 2-door coupe model, but maybe that’s just me.
