Pagani Zonda R - Official Renderings

Pagani Zonda R

Ah, finally an update to the long-awaited next model from Pagani. Following the Zonda F, the Zonda R is shown to be made completely out of carbon fiber. When I first wrote about this car in March, the concept drawings looked different, but not dramatically different.

The Zonda R is said to have a 7.3-liter V12, pushing 750 horsepower and 523 lb-ft of torque. It may look similar to the Zonda F, but it actually only shares about 10% of it’s parts. With the aerodynamic improvements, lighter weight and increased power, the R should be able to keep up with (or beat) the Ferrari’s FXX and Maserati MC-12 track cars.

And it better be able to outrun the Ferrari and Maserati. With a price tag like $2.8 Million, you should be able to fly it.

Seems like Pagani has taken some styling cues from Lamborghini’s Reventon, they both have the same high-tech jet fighter look. Hope it actually makes it to production.

Demonblade, actually the Zonda R plans were out before the Reventon was announced.

My mistake, sorry ’bout that. But I’m sure you get my point, that both the Zonda R and the Reventon are radical, jet-fighter looking cars. That’s a good thing, as too many cars have bland designs nowadays.

$2.8 million dollars? I don’t know what stunt Pagani is trying to pull here, or if those figures are just speculation. For almost 3 million, this thing had better be able to shoot past every damn thing on wheels there is.

Anyway, exterior styling is fantastic, and it even manages to make the Zonda F look, dare I say it, plain. I can only hope that the production model retains every aspect of the original, or else this thing just isn’t going to sell, not with the price tag it carries.
