Looks like Nissan has a rival on their hands. Just when I was looking at buying an Altima Coupe, Honda releases information on the new 2008 Accord Coupe and Sedan. The coupe is much more attractive than the Sedan; enough so to compete with the Altima Coupe in terms of looks. There have been quite a few spy photos released of the Accord, which look great.
This is my opinion of course, and from what I’ve noticed, either people love it or hate it.
Specs on the 2008 Accord are comparable to the Altima Coupe…
2008 Honda Accord Coupe |
2008 Nissan Altima Coupe |
|
|---|---|---|
| 4 Cylinder | 190 hp | 175 hp |
| V-6 | 268 hp | 270 hp |
As you can see, the 4 Cylinder Accord beats the Altima by 15 horsepower, and comes only 2 horsepower shy with the V6.
The Accord Coupe comes with a 5-speed auto or manual transmission (6-speed manual for the V6,) double-wishbone front suspension, 18″ alloy wheels on the V6, 270 watt 6-disc audio system, standard ABS all around, and many other cool features.
On a side note, the Altima has many more high-tech features (like CVT, variable intake, traction control, intelligent key with push-button ignition and more,) and may be a better choice for us tech-heads out there. I’ll be doing a much more in-depth review of the two cars soon.
In the mean time, I might be taking a stroll over to my Nissan dealer for a test drive
