2007 Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera…oh joy!
While at the New York International Auto show (NYIAS) I was lucky enough to gaze upon the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera. Now, not only is the name a mouthful but just looking at the car made my mouth agape. The Gallardo Superleggera at the NYIAS was in a Borealis orange with dark gun metal gray wheels. The car is powered Lamborghini’s latest version of the 530HP V10 that revs all the way up to 8,000 rpm.
The Gallardo Superleggera is 154lbs lighter than the standard version of the Gallardo. The results of the weight reduction and improved engine is a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds, 0.2 seconds than the standard model. An all suede interior only assists in making the Gallardo Superleggera even more of a luxury sports car. One aspect that helped reduce the weight of the car was a large incorporation of carbon fiber. As I said in my Lexus IS-F post ; if I won the lottery, the Gallardo Superleggera would be one of my first purchases.
