Saab Aero X Concept – Photo Gallery

Saab introduced the Aero X Concept in early 2006 to remind people of their roots in aviation. Designed with no doors or windshield pillars, the Aero X boasts a cockpit canopy as you would see in a jet aircraft.
The Aero X is powered by a 400-hp, twin-turbo, BioPower V6 engine that pushes the car from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds and reaches a top speed of 155 mph. It also boasts the coolest gauges I’ve ever seen, showing the speed, RPM and boost levels in 3-D. This is really, really cool:

Although I think the tachometer is supposed to read “RPM x1000,” instead of “RPM x100″ Well I wish this car was real and not a concept.

Wow, that’s such a beautiful car. Wouldn’t mind test driving one of these babies when they do become available
This is completely awesome. It’s menacing but has this noble look to it. This is also great because it finally shows that GM does indeed care about Saab, since so far Saab has been this sort of wannabe loner brand that no one buys. If only this could make it into production. But of course it won’t, because GM almost never makes a cool concept into a cool production car. What a damn shame, ’cause this could push Saab into the spotlight. I weep.
