2008 Scion tC Refreshed - Chicago Auto Show

Scion showed off their redesigned tC Coupe at the 2007 Chicago Auto Show, which will be released as a 2008 model. It has a slightly modified front-end, including headlights with black trim, which look great (similar to the Toyota Camry SE.)

Also included in the update are modified taillights with round combo lights, similar to some of the aftermarket taillights available for the current models. Interior enhancements include new orange combination guages, silver enhancements to the doors, a Pioneer subwoofer, and new seat fabric. Keep reading for a gallery and more…

The 2008 Scion tC will also be offered in Spec Package, which will be cheaper than the standard car, and is available for the customers who like to modify the cars.

As attractive as the current tC is, the redesign looks even better, with a sleeker, sexier look; even though it does look a bit like the Honda Accord Coupe Concept. The changes to the headlights and taillights look great, and will likely attract a slightly different audience than the current model (like me.)

The tC has always been a great car… I think the changes this time around have been good.

It seems that some companies are getting carried away with the “bulkiness” of there new cars.

I certainly don’t know why the designers do this. But for this current model tC they have kept it to a minimum which is good to see.

Hm…..with these slight alterations, I hope that this car can still be customized to be extremely sporty, that’s what I loved about the current tC.

Ugh…I am disappointed. Scion (Toyota) has updated the xB with an all new design, they also replaced the xA with the xD. Funny, I just realized that xD is an emoticon for laughing really hard.
But I digress, this “new” tC is not good sign. I mean they basically updated the head/tail lamps. New grill design, new seat material and the rear bumper has a new groove.
How lame is that…no new tC, just a slightly modded OG version. I was gonna get a tC but I was waiting to see what the 08 version would look like and after seeing this, no tC for me.

well mike,y, you gotta understand that the new tC lineup will come out in 2009, and not 2008. the new modifications are refreshening, and def. attract more people rather than the same bland look we been seeing for 4 years.

Just for the record, I was unable to confirm that the “new” tC lineup will be release in 2009.
You can assume this since the tC was introduced in 2004 and it appears that Scion (Toyota) is following a 5 year period for new releases. The xA and xB were both release to the public in 2003 and have been refreshed for 2008. As I stated that assuming they are following the 5 year formula.

Now to your point about the refreshing of the look of the tC to get away from the bland look we have seen for the past four years. I agree one hundred percent with you but if you are going to refresh the look, improve on the tC’s current design. The new taillights are quite gaudy in my opinion and I don’t care much for the blacked out headlamps. I think Scion should have stuck with the current design and just wait for the 2009 release.

I love the Scion Tc. The look of the car is just so cool. I am going be getting the 2007scion Tc for my first car. I have already seen the 2009 Scion Tc, I thought it looked so ugly, that is my opinion. But yal scion Tc lovers who would would like a new change you mite like it a lot.

I love the Scion Tc. I actually have a 2008. However i had thhe 2007 for my first car and i totaled it. Showing how much it was a good car i just had to get another one. I’m not into the 2009, but thats my own opinion.

Where have all of you seen this “2009 Scion tC”? If you’re talking about the Fuse then, maybe. But that’s not the tC2. Even the xB2 has only a few lines from the T2b

I love this car- I actually just got one not to long ago and I absolutley love them!
