Say Goodbye to the Pontiac GTO

The last true muscle car of its generation rolls off the line in Australia by Holden. The Pontiac GTO was a beast of a car, but was expensive. And let’s face it, it looked kind of boring, at least before 2006. The performance was far from boring though; the car traveled from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and was powered by a 400hp V8. That’s fast, but not quite fast enough to justify the $33,290 price tag, not to mention very few incentives. Bye-bye GTO.

I think the gto should have never been made gm shouldve just made more improvements to the trans am/firebird and camaro which looked more agrressive than the gto and already had a good fan base.
The GTO was a nice idea, but the styling left something to be desired. The power, the engine and transmission are superb. Too bad the GTO never really caught on, far too many people would rather have a Trans Am from Pontiac and not the bland GTO. Are you listening, GM?? Bring back the Trans Am and make retro like the new Camaro coming out soon. Heck, it might even help the bottom line if you sell plenty of them…..and you will.
33k too much? find a german car that goes 0-60 in 4.6( in the A4), find any import and i bet you its the same price or more expensive. The body looks good to me, the interior was way better then the F-bodies ever were, and the advertising for the car sucked! I still talk to people that don’t know the GTO even came back out, GM just dropped the ball on the GTO in so many ways that it would take too long to discuss.
