James Bond can’t drive the new Aston Martin?

As you probably know, in the new movie “Casino Royale,” James Bond is set to drive the new and beautiful Aston Martin DBS, based on my favorite Aston, the DB9. The funny thing is, Daniel Craig, who is set to play Bond in the new movie cannot drive a stick.

Aston Martin DBS

There are a couple of quick solutions to this, which for some reason don’t seem to be entering anybody’s mind. The obvious one being Craig learns how to drive a manual. I don’t really see the problem with this one (doesn’t anybody on the set know how to drive a stick?) but if that doesn’t work for whatever reason, they could simply outfit the car with the six-speed ‘Touchtronic 2′ fully automatic transmission that is optional on the DB9. Or better yet, bring me in to drive it. Yeah, I like that one.

This bit of news just ruined the movie for me. I always have looked up to bond and even though I know that its all fiction and that the actor can’t really thrill and kill in real life as he does on screen, knowing that even a mundane thing like a stick can stump our newest 007 definitely is a downer. Guess a license to kill does not mean you should have a license to drive a Aston.

[…] It’s early 2006. You make a low six-figure income, have a nice house, family, and a couple of decent cars. You decide it’s time to treat yourself, and you really want an Aston Martin DB9. You pick one up at your closest Aston dealer and love it. Only months later, Aston Martin announces they’re going to release the beautiful DBS - the upgraded DB9 which debuted in the 2006 James Bond movie, Casino Royale. […]
